That is such an excellent article. It explains clearly what CFG are doing and why they are doing it. It absolutely shatters the fabricated myth of "sportswashing." It is a fantastic business model which will be very profitable in the long-term. In the short-term it means huge community investment and regeneration for some of the poorest areas in the world. You should send a link to that moron at the Guardian Jonathan Wilson. It's an example of journalism which is an alien concept to some of the unqualified writing staff at the Guardian.

I was particularly interested about the 'wannabe' clubs who, though they have no links at all with CFG, have started playing in sky blue and putting 'City' in their name - presumably to put themselves in the shop window for CFG.

If guayaquil city become part of the cfg, we will go and see a few games when the crowds are back. Have seen Bolivar play a couple of times, they are a decent club
