To be fair I hadn't considered use of the horn; more of a straight forward run of the mill shafting. Then again I haven't actually compared the lengths of cricket bat handle and a rhinos cock so accept the analogy may a little flawed. I think horn based abuse should be reserved for certain UEFA members.
 
Games tonight and tomorrow, is the draw on Friday for the rags to be given the lowest ranking team still in it?

Edit, if Celtic win tonight could they end up with them?

Well as Madrid & Barca are TV paired the odds of you winning the bet are pretty close to 100% (accounting foe the very small chance that the champions league & draw doesn't take place this year).

The interesting thing will be how BT Sport pair the English clubs if Utd get through. As they broadcast all the games I suspect they will change the pairings to Arsenal/Utd and City/Chelsea to guarantee a big ratings game every night. Remember regardless of the TV pairs City & Utd can't play at home on the same night.

Now because only one team in pot 1 is English whichever club is paired with Chelsea draws a short straw as it can only be placed in 1 of 4 groups on the other side of the draw to Chelsea. Similarly the last English team out of Pot 2 gets a limited draw as they can only be put in 1 in 2 or 1 in 3 groups depending on which side if the draw they are on. If both these features combine then that team can only go in 1 of 2 groups regardless. Lets hope we are the first English team out if Pot 2!

I consider myself reasonably clued up about the CL pots and draws but nowhere near as some on here, so can someone explain how drawing teams to suit TV schedules is not a weird form of fixing?

Out if the three English teams we will get the hardest group, as we have done since we qualified for the damn tournament. IMO it is so bent and fixed you can see the smoke coming off the balls that relate to us. :-)
 
It really makes me laugh how people assume it's a fix. There are two ways to prove it clearly isn't a fix.

You have to assume the reason behind fixing the draw would be to either keep the traditional, established elite at the top table OR to get the most attractive games to boost viewing figures and revenue.

Do people honestly think Bayern and Barca were happy about drawing us two years in a row? Surely they would have put us in Porto's group to keep us away from one of their darlings. Secondly, why would they give us pretty much the same group two years in a row? It's not good for the competition if it's repetitive, they will lose viewing figures if we get Bayern and CSKA again next year!

There is a lot of corruption in UEFA, but not in the Champions League draw!
