Yes I think we've only been paired with the rags once and that was when we ended up with Dortmund, Real and Ajax. Allowing the TV companies to dictate that certain teams can't play on the same night is what distorts this draw more than anything, it was the reason Dortmund ended up in our group because German TV didn't want them playing on the same night as Bayern, who were in the other half of the draw.
Yeah, that was the year they were down to 2 teams left in Pot 4, Dortmund and Romanian champion's Otelul Galati. Ourselves and United were in the 2 remaining groups which needed a Pot 4 team adding. Galati came out of the hat, and the UEFA presenter said some bollocks about there only being 1 group they could be placed in, and promptly put them in United's group, thus leaving us with Dortmund. I remember going spare, as there was no country protection issues I could see. The fact it was a decision based solely around TV rights was an absolute farce, it's a underhanded method of rigging the draws without actually having to warm the balls.

The exact moment i realised it was a TV fix too. There should be no say from TV companies. Only possibly the police to say if two teams cannot play in one city for a night and other than that, no input.

It was nothing to do with the Romanian Team - It was the German TV pairing for Dortmund - They had to go in the other side of the draw to Bayern Munich (Group F) so they had to go into Group A, B, C or D. There was only one slot left in Group D (our group) for a Pot 4 team on that side of the draw.
The TV pairings are NOT made public - they should be! Then again you would be able to predict the percenatege chance of ending up in a group. So know how bent TV pairings make the draw.
For our first year in the Champions League we were paired with Utd, but thereafter we were paired with Arsenal by Sky (as prime TV broadcaster) because it always got them a Utd or Arsenal game to broadcast because we can't play at home on the same night as Utd in Europe by UEFA rules. You would expect Utd to be paired with Arsenal (top 2 in terms in terms of viewing figures). BT Sport will probably pair Utd and Arsenal as they want good viewing figures on both nights.

any "draw" that can be contrived for tv , coefficients, or anything else is a fix. clear as day. I go to euro away games for the crac, the games are irrellevent to me. platini is a cheat on every level.Your assumption that it was a fix (not the other comments). Gerrymandered but not a fix.
It is a totally logical outcome of having TV pairs.No hot balls no, cold balls just logic.
My point is if you knew who was paired with who you could virtually guess the draw after the pot 2 teams come out of the ball machine.
