If we go back to back in the prem then the champions league has to be the focus for next year. The carabao cup and the fa cup are just not that important anymore for a team of our stature.

You have to go for the league and champions league, you can't go all out to win a cup comp over the league when so much luck is involved. Go for every trophy and see what we end up with like his year. At least away goals don't count next year as Pep didn't seem to know about them anyway

If PL was bigger than CL, then we would be competing them off the pitch but in reality we are not even close when it comes to popularity of those clubs.

Just one CL win would close the gap significantly.

Look at the teams we picked in the League Cup.

Oxford - 10 changes.
Fulham - 10 changes made.
Leicester - 8 changes.
Burton - 8 changes.

We played as weak a team as possible in these games, we just won anyway.

I don’t want to close a gap in a worldwide fanbase race. That’s the most insignificant part of going for any trophy.

It’s about the glory, the prestige, not Big Jav from Jakarta and his sad **** firm of 50 mates who were all Rags last year all of a sudden become City fans the day we lift the European Cup.

The reason we went out of the Champions League isn't because we played strong sides in the domestic cups (we didn't apart from maybe a couple of games), it's because Pep bottled it in the first leg, Aguero missed a penalty in the first leg, and because the non-deliberate handball rules that were applied in the first leg and all throughout the competition weren't applied in the second leg. Spurs probably deserve a little bit of credit too.

I love the champions league and am envious of the two English clubs in the final. City were the better side in our games against spuds. Oh well..to the bread and butter of hopefully retaining our title.
