Champions League ban?

I see lots of posters demanding to 'hit back' and bring UEFA to court.

The problem is, suing UEFA is akin to fighting windmills - essentially pointless exercise benefitting City's enemies. UEFA are hardly an embodiement of evil on Earth, they're just a ruling body being used by the Cartel (G4 or whatever).

Let's say we defeat UEFA in courts - G4 will only laugh, change their masks and launch the Superleague with 'Fair play with no Oil money and incompetent UEFA' slogan. Our only chance to survive is creating a breakaway competition on our own terms, it's clear as day. The bastards won't leave us alone in any other scenario.

I think if Mansour's resources aren't enough to hit back on the PR field, the best way to handle the situation is keeping a low profile, making sure that 'our' breakaway competition in the Club World Cub is lauched as planned in 2021. I guess one of the next key points will be FIFA president elections next June, the Cartel will try to replace 'our' Gianni with their puppet to stop the project.

If UEFA somehow manages to disqualify City from the CL, it would put us in a very difficult situation. We can't afford to lose the CL money and take the PR hit, on the other hand the City-UEFA clash is literally what G4 want. Right now City's position looks quite weak, at least from PR POV.

If we are excluded from European competitions, does that mean we can spend as much as we like whilst we aren't in them.

Liverpool didn't fail FFP because they weren't in Europe.

Could we buy anyone we wanted?
Imagine this team with extra days off each week to rest? Frightening!

According to Stefan from the 9320 pod, in the Der Spiegel articles our deal with Etihad in 2015 was bringing in 67.5 mill.

There is a leaked email from the Chief Financial Officer of the City Football Group (Jorge Chumillas) to our top lawyer (Pearce): ‘Please note that out of those 67.5m pounds, 8m pounds should be funded directly by Etihad and 59.5 by ADUG’.

As I understand it Stefan is a corporate lawyer. I asked him about this matter because it is post the 2014 settlement with UEFA, and in his 9320 pod on the Der Spiegel articles he said that he couldn’t see any threat to City, other than possible investigations of matters after the 2014 settlement.

He said that City had a contractual right to these funds. Moreover, it’s not our (City’s) business how Etihad fund it’s spending for contracts.

This is a key point. We exercised our contractual right to those funds. How the other party (Etihad) sources funding to fulfil the contract is simply not our business.

So I reckon we still maintain that we have not breached FFP. By the way for those that haven’t listened, his analysis of all this on the pod is well worth a listen.
plus Uefa can’t go and ask these companies where their income came from. Literally nothing to do with Uefa.

G4 IS THAT A VOCAL QUARTET

The Sun could be in very big trouble.

They have quoted a source: "Manchester City were punished once before and that did not stop them."

Our lawyers will be on them today.

The stolen leaks were attributed to post sanctioning and this infers there is somehow wrongdoing after the event.

The Sun have either made up the source quote or... Either way, it won't be allowed to stand.

Could there possibly be a more “Typical City” thing than assembling the best team England has ever seen, with the best coach of all time, getting banned from Europe for 3 years, and then by the time the ban has been served FFP is deemed illegal?

It could only really happen to City.

I have zero idea about the legalities of this whole situation but look at it from a "what is the objective" angle.
My guess is that the old guard want to tarnish the City brand rather than try to outmuscle them.
Their plan is to spread the message that we are dirty, corrupt, playground bullies and cheats.
No right minded fan could get behind such a club, could they?
Their dirty Arab oil money has seen to it that football is on the ropes and only the proper clubs like United, Liverpool, Bayern and Milan can restore order.
The consumer can also do their bit by rejecting acceptance of the "achievements" of this bunch of cheats and getting behind the good guys who are fighting against the odds to restore order to the game.
If this is done then people like Guardiola, Sterling, Sane, de Bruyne and even Foden will see the error of their ways and come to the light where they will be welcomed back to the fold.
All this may sound fanciful but it's maybe the most best weapon in the armoury.
Can't win on the pitch, can't win in court so take the battle to the hearts and minds of the public.

It’s obvious from the Der Spiegel leaks to the UEFA comments that UEFA want blood.

People coming out with, “there is nothing to see here” would be better off getting to the Hoffenheim game next week and singing their hearts out for the team. Our best chance of avoiding serious sanctions is probably to win the Champs League. They are unlikely to ban the champions!

It's exactly their idea. Football is ruled through governing organisations, and aggressive PR is the best way to put 'right' people in the driving seats. Mansour have made FIFA president our ally, and Infantino's now being pictured as a corrupted fraud.
