Champions League ban?

Let's say we defeat UEFA in courts - G4 will only laugh, change their masks and launch the Superleague with 'Fair play with no Oil money and incompetent UEFA' slogan. Our only chance to survive is creating a breakaway competition on our own terms, it's clear as day. The bastards won't leave us alone in any other scenario.

This won't happen for 4 reasons.

1) If FFP is ruled illegal, they can't just set up another competition with similarly anti-competitive rules around fair play and spending caps.

2) We already know from the leaks that the Super League plans were really just to put pressure on UEFA to give big clubs more money, and the public outrage in Germany made it clear that Bayern simply can't do it.

3) We are in the Super League plans anyway. We've become too big to leave out. There is no credibility to starting a league without the best team in England.

4) FIFA ended any chance of a super league by declaring any player who played for a club in a breakaway league would be banned from international football.

We all know they have been out to stop us from the first indication we were emerging as a threat to their precious cartel. Not just UEFA but our own premier league. Fueled by a vindictive media and the hysterical, hypocritical wailing of jealous fan bases of these said clubs. Behind this constant drip feed of character assassination the rich and powerful our success hurts have been scheming and plotting our demise.

I have no idea if they now have enough evidence and the legal means to finally do so, but if they do I hope our club challenge them legally and ferociously, win and finally bring the whole stinking, corrupt, hypocritical house of cards down once and for all.

I myself don't like the champions league but trust me we have to be in it. Why? Well the players all want to play in and aspire to win it. As a result the top players would simply not come here if any ban lasted longer than a year. This would then weaken us domestically. Fan's saying " Sod them we will clean up domestically " are wrong for this very reason. If a ban lasted five years, when it ended we would once more be playing catch up. Not to the pre 2008 extent but trust me it would hurt us. The premier league wouldn't even have to take any action themselves they would just need to sit back and watch us unravel. Let's hope there is no substance to these latest reports.

The Sun could be in very big trouble.

They have quoted a source: "Manchester City were punished once before and that did not stop them."

Our lawyers will be on them today.

The stolen leaks were attributed to post sanctioning and this infers there is somehow wrongdoing after the event.

The Sun have either made up the source quote or... Either way, it won't be allowed to stand.
Good sue them and demand a full front page apology!

Would a 1 year ban really affect us that bad? Who would want to leave? I can’t see any of our top players wanting to go just for one year’s chumps league football. I think we’re more than likely to loose a few fringe players eg Danilo, Zinchenko, Gundogan as they will know there won’t be the opportunity to rotate as much. That mean the like of foden having more opportunities. My only worry is will this effect our premier league ffp situation ie could we have titles stripped etc? Does anyone know if this is the case?

I have zero idea about the legalities of this whole situation but look at it from a "what is the objective" angle.
My guess is that the old guard want to tarnish the City brand rather than try to outmuscle them.
Their plan is to spread the message that we are dirty, corrupt, playground bullies and cheats.
No right minded fan could get behind such a club, could they?
Their dirty Arab oil money has seen to it that football is on the ropes and only the proper clubs like United, Liverpool, Bayern and Milan can restore order.
The consumer can also do their bit by rejecting acceptance of the "achievements" of this bunch of cheats and getting behind the good guys who are fighting against the odds to restore order to the game.
If this is done then people like Guardiola, Sterling, Sane, de Bruyne and even Foden will see the error of their ways and come to the light where they will be welcomed back to the fold.
All this may sound fanciful but it's maybe the most best weapon in the armoury.
Can't win on the pitch, can't win in court so take the battle to the hearts and minds of the public.

yep its been a smear campaign of our club since we have been took over generated by fear and jealousy of the G7

Too confusing. Next week, boo less or boo more?

I will always boo their shitty anthem. They’ve done nothing but to try stop City since 2008. I put my money into this club, I’m not just going to let them try stop us without my feelings being known. If anyone else has got any other alternatives than booing, then I’m all for it.

We know from the leaks that the Club were prepared to go to law and a compromise was reached. There is absolutely no way that the Club would take this without a legal challenge and UEFA know that. The information was also attained illlegaly and was privileged, only intended for the recipient, therefore I doubt very much it could be used against City; again this would be challenged in law. To ban the best team in Europe from the competition would also devalue it, something that UEFA will not do. I would also add that the deal was done and there is no going back. UEFA are just appealing to the masses. Relax people

They will be coming up with some way of trying to punish us, it’s just whether we choose to fight or not.
