Champions League ban?

I have asked this before but there is something about this FFP thing that I still don’t understand.

The last time I looked City are in the top 5 Clubs in Europe for revenue and are operating at a profit.

Our record signing was Riyad Mahrez for £60m (€66m). Other clubs, notably Barcelona and PSG routinely spend in excess of €100m on players. PSG have less revenue that we do and (presumably) a higher wage bill.

The Rags are deep in debt, we have no debt.

So, my question is why is it only us that are constantly being mentioned as being under investigation ? Why is it only us who are accused of buying success (how many home grown players do Liverpool have ?)

Everyone questions our sponsorship deals yet nobody even blinks at the reported €50m plus shirt deals Barcelona and Real Madrid have done with Rakuten and Emirates respectively.

This is nothing more than a witch hunt.

Absolutely this. We are under the spotlight because we are the ‘imposter’. UEFA don’t see Uniteds accounts in the Cayman Islands or the details of Chelsea’s debts to Abramovich, details of the Catalan Governments subsidies to Barcelona or the three shareholders that own 25 per cent of Bayern Munich but are also major sponsors. The whole thing is a witch-hunt, it anti competitive and corrupt. No doubt about it but journalists and football fans go along with it because it protects the establishment and they want to keep that. We destroyed the sky 4 and took Liverpool’s UCL place - we will never be forgiven for gatecrashing the party and breaking up a very cosy and profitable scenario. Fuck em.

Bloody hell, 1586 posts and you've never seen the answer to that question on this forum?! Specsaver time old son.......

I would like to think that Kaldoon has already instructed lawyers to prepare a case.

I'm unsure but would presume the process will be;

1. A charge against us requesting explanation
2. Explanation given
3. Guilty verdict then ban / fine / reduced squad punishment.
4. Appeal process (1 year)
5. Appeal rejected
6. Appeal to CAS
If this doesn't go City's way
7. Case brought to European courts.

Looks like a long old process which you would presume UEFA will be aware of and not be looking forward to.

If they lose, the whole thing goes in the bin and the fallout is huge.

Also politically, it looks like they're possibly gunning for Infantino, with him now being dragged in, for negotiating a wrong punishment in the first place.

Ceferins comment 'a few clubs would buy all the players', wants jumping on and ridiculing.

That's whats always happened. This FFP, is making it even moreso.

This FFP reminds me of when I enrolled at the Caf and they shoved me in the 'Newbie' section.
Basically, not allowing me into the main forum where I could take on debate with their longstanding and traditional members.
So, protecting them from 'New money '

I don't think we'll waste our time with all that. Any whiff of a 'guilty' verdict at stage 3 and we'll go straight to stage 7

Because our sponsorship deals are partially paid for by our owner. This might not actually end up being found to break the rules but that is what we face investigations over.

Ha ! I try not to buy into the conspiracy theories that many post on here but it’s getting harder every day. There is simply no logic to this. If any Club should be under investigation if should be Liverpool. They have pretty well funded their completely rejuvenated squad on the back of the sale of Countinho. The numbers just don’t add up.

Yes, I understand that. I mentioned Liverpool’s finances earlier. How about the Rags. They were purchased by the Glazers with £500m of debt which they promptly stuck back on the club. I don’t know the interest rate on that debt but rates in excess of 10% are not uncommon for inter company loans. So, the cost to service the debt is £50m a year. If they didn’t have the debt, this £50m would be profit on which they would pay tax. Why is nobody getting bent out of shape about this ?

If related parties can’t sponsor - what about Bayern Munich. Adidas, Audi and Allianz have 8 per cent shareholding’s in the club and seats on the Executive Board. The allegations re who paid the sponsorship can be settled in the respective accounts of the sponsors. If Etihad have said they paid us x it will be in their accounts. This is a witch-hunt. If Qatar want to give PSG £200m a year in sponsorship that’s down to them and why should UEFA question it.
