So you got 2 completely different groups. How bizarre.

Not really did the draw twice with different criteria each time, I supect the variations run into hundreds if not thousands.

Picking te first ball in each pot every time I got:-
Man City
Real Madrid
Lyon
Crvena Zvezda

Picking the last ball resulted in:-
Man City
Dortmund
Olympiacos
Slavia

Notice how the second pot choice gets drastically reduced on some ocassions and frequently only gives you one choice.

It's all fixed as you have to factor in the pairings so if we are paired with Liverpool for arguments sake then if we are in group B then they will be in one of group E to H. The same goes for all the other pairings so in effect 50% of the teams we could draw aren't possible. Then you factor that we can't have another English club so it is feasible that in pot two it could boil down to just three teams we can draw. It's an absolute farce calling it a draw.

This is what I have read:
The final restriction is that, in the case of federations with two or more representatives, clubs will be paired in such a way that their matches are distributed between Tuesday and Wednesday. In Spain's case, there will be two clubs playing on Tuesday and two on Wednesday. In practice this will be seen if a paired club is drawn, for example, in Groups A, B, C or D, then the other club will (once drawn) will automatically go to one of Groups E, F, G or H.

It’s a measure of our progress that I’m not that bothered who we draw, from a playing point of view. Even the groups of death don’t look that threatening

Not true. I bet you £100 Barcelona are in a different half of the draw to Real Madrid
