Agreed, I wasn't trying to compare how we fared then against how we might fare this season - two completely different teams now.

We should be getting at least 12 points from the group and that is being modest.

To be honest in a Group stage there is always opportunity to put a bad night right. Even over two legs we should have enough for most teams. We should really have beaten Monaco who went on to reach the final. Only Bayern, Real and Barca for me are still the ones to beat and I would put us as second favourites in those games in knockout stages. Topping the group should help avoid them until the qf's at least and as for the other teams groups, the longer they are in this, the harder the prem is for them. I think we should pay what we have to to get Sanchez though. He could make a huge difference.

Shakhtar play their games in Lviv still I think, so it's just a 2,900 mile round trip, not a 4,300 one.

Agree that those are the teams to beat (Real Madrid especially - I still think we should have beaten them in that semi-final).

Sanchez could be the difference between us winning 2+ trophies or just one in my opinion.

A mate who lived in Holland tells me Amsterdam is 1.5 hrs away by train. A good place is Den Haag which is 40 mins away with a great train service

Don't think it's a great draw tbh. Napoli and Feyenoord were 2 of the hardest teams we could have drawn from pots 3 and 4. We should progress but not as easy as some are predicting

What pisses me off is that predictably the rags and dippers get easier groups despite us being seeded higher

BT were doing their best to con Txiki into saying we're in an easy group and will qualify no probs. Other than saying Spurs had a tough draw he didn't fall for it.

And this could have ramifications. No way can those 'elite' clubs be happy with this draw model.

Last year Madrid got Dortmund, Bayern got Atletico and Barca got us and Borussia.
