Champions League Final | Inter Milan - Italian Media

Dredging up my distant knowledge of Latin (and Rome in its republican era, I think), weren't the Tarquins responsible for the Rape of the Sabine Women (depicted by many a painter, especially in the nineteenth century)?
Having difficulty connecting it with Arsène Wenger, somehow.
Nope, that would have happened (according to tradition) under Romulus, the first king of Rome.

The Tarquins were the last 3 kings of Rome, after which the monarchy was abolished because those 3 were absolutistic twats and they were Etruscan.

Good to see you back - as a Juve fan who would you say are Internazionale’s main individual threats and strengths?

Olá! Yeah this season I haven't had many reasons to come and read/write on here, and it's not been an easy one in general for us Juve fans.

Probably Lautaro (if he's on his game like he's been recently) and Barella (despite him usually spending at least half of the game complaining to the ref or his teammates.) Çalhanoglu can also have a good strike from distance but it's not as common.

Certo, per me il vero derby è pur sempre contro di voi e non contro il Milan.

I simply don’t understand this. Some in Madrid say their derby is El Classico and not against Atleti. Some rags say their true derby is against the dippers, though not many did last week.
Your derby is against your closest neighbours.
Maybe for people from Milan it is different?

As a Juve fan we have a bit of an Everton/Liverpool situation in that Torino have been mediocre (at best) for so long - faaar longer than Everton - that they're more like deeply annoying relatives than dangerous rivals. Of course we hate them but the most danger they can pose is during those two single matches a year (where we usually win.) They're the most important matches in their season but they're by no means that in ours - although the result has extra emotional weight and pride on the line obviously.

Inter aren't as physically close to our innards as Torino are but the hatred for them is simply enormous, and they are often a serious threat. It's called "Derby of Italy" (Derby d'Italia) for a reason.

Milan definitely have Inter as their biggest rivals; although in some seasons it's been us against Milan battling it out - but there's not the same depth of animosity. Inter have certainly a more dangerous derby with Milan (they have the same number of Serie A titles) than we have against Torino, so it may vary among Inter fans which one they hate more between us and them.

Yeah we and the Torino fans might end up cheering for the same team tonight, although for different reasons. And they don't particularly like Inter either, even though they don't have a fully-fledged rivalry with them.

As for us, the only friendship/twinning we have in England is (obviously) with Notts County. Really glad that they're back in the Football League this season and on an upwards trajectory.

I live across the road the road from Notts County's ground.

They had a supporters charity match here a couple of weeks ago to raise money for victims of Heysel.
