Champions League Final | Istanbul Travel - Good to hear routes etc.

100% confirmed - check the uefa app -just released the transporation schedule and frequencies. SAW is every 15 min
Yeah just seen that thanks. Don’t like to tempt fate but it does appear UEFA are covering all bases after last year …. Maybe they just hate Liverpool as much as the rest of us!

That UEFA shuttle schedule has the SAW to stadium shuttle stopping at 1800, 4 hours before kick-off despite it only being a 40 minutes journey. My flight is scheduled to arrive at 1700 and SAW has 50+ flights landing after that before 1800, with as many again in the hour after that. UEFA's assurances were that everyone with a ticket would be fine using their shuttle service and they warned everyone not to try using taxis or driving to the stadium, because of road closures. Now, three days before the match, they have released a schedule that stops far too soon and that will leave loads of people worrying about transport. That shuttle should have run right up to kick-off instead. The schedule for the return trip to SAW is even less reassuring: it just says that it will run from from the final whistle to 'end of service'. That tells us nothing and will put a lot of fans from both clubs under pressure to leave at the whistle for fear of being stranded in the middle of the night and missing a return flight. No doubt the 'end of service' vagueness is aimed at getting people out of the stadium quickly using those fears.

There is no way SAW airport to the stadium will be possible in 40 mins at that time on match day. Min 75 mins, may be up to 90 mins.

I’ve seen official text that buses will run after the match until everyone has left.

Sorry mate and this isn't a dig at you personally, but it's total knobbery to book a gameday flight into a metropolis of a city just a few hours before kick off for a major event, especially after sinking nearly 2k in costs. Hope you all get sorted but the mind boggles why another flight option wasn't chosen.

It's easy to blame UEFA bus times but this one is on City fans unfortunately. It's like some of our lot have never travelled further than Stretford.

Just going off what UEFA says about journey times. Google predicts 24-40 minutes for that afternoon and evening, taking the O-7 motorway, which fits the UEFA schedule. If stuck, I'll take a bus to the nearest metro station and get in from there. That would be a pain but still only takes 90 minutes in total. Using rail alone would take 150 minutes. Let's hope that UEFA's shuttles run on time. Pity they haven't yet completed the metro extension that will go direct from SAW to the stadium.
