Champions League Final | Post-Match Thread

Shame to come away from it thinking we didn't actually show our best, dare I say actively sabotaged our chances with that team selection, but it's not going to be our last final and we'll win it eventually.
There are no guarantees in sports, you have to win when you have the chance. This season played out PERFECTLY for City to win the CL. They clinched the league early, everybody was healthy and they ended up w/ a fairly average Chelsea in the final. The same Chelsea team to lost a week ago to Aston Villa w/ a top four place on the line.

If City are lucky enough to get back it will more likely be Bayern Munich or one of the Spanish giants in the final.

Nowhere have I questioned Pep's achievements in the League and the football has (in the main) been a pleasure to watch.

But surely it's not wrong to question his ability in the CL (and, as someone else mentioned in the FA Cup) when poor team selection has quite obviously cost us.
Replace him with??

Tonight was disappointing but if someone said to me City will be in the Chumps League final 20 years ago I would not have believed them. City are a very well run club with exciting youth players coming through. Tonight is hard to take but we have come a long way and the future is bright...if we keep going in the same direction our time will come...
please, stop that shit, our owner has spent millions making us the best, today the team and coach let him down

I think I have had enough of Pep.

We get to another CL final, what will he do? We all knew CFC would play 3 quick forwards and play counter-attacking football so why did you do that Pep? We needed cover in this game more than any other.

I haven't had enough of Pep but I agree that we needed Fernandinho in that team what a fucking stupid decision to drop our best player for an out of form one. It literally fucked the team right up. How many games has Gundogan played holding midfield this season?

I am going to swallow this and say Chelsea deserved it. Two flaws tonight as I saw it, was Pep's arrogant selection and Sterling's performance.
