Champions League Final | Post-Match Thread

There is a very good interview with Domenec Totrrent in today's The Guardian, it is about Pep and it explains a lot about him, both as a person and a manager. Worth reading before people here made same rush and stupid judgments. He might have made some unexpected changes to our first eleven tonight, but it was the players in the end who didn't turn up.

In some parts we were actually. If rudiger didn’t get a good block Foden scores you woikd
Be saying we were amazing. He did say fair play to Chelsea and congrats. What else do you expect?
Spot on. Reading some of these it's hard to believe we only lost by the odd goal against a side that's very good defensively. Apart from that they didn't do much else either.

Very disappointing performance. I’d have started Fernandinho and Aguero. We were lucky not to have been four down at half time.

Yes he's the leading scorer. True. That's one because cancelo and Bernardo filled in to do the role that HE WAS BOUGHT TO DO AND FLOPS MISERABLY ie, defensive midfielder.
You being serious he's not a defensive midfielder, I can't take you serious. I can't even make out what your trying to say?

Hope Kevs okay.

Weren't good enough, Chelsea deserve it, we'll be back again.

Had a great night with family and friends I haven't seen for 18 months.

Is what it is. Bring on the Euros and the new season.

I don't want to point the finger too much because no one turned up but starting Sterling was proper suspect, as well as leaving Fernandinho on the bench. Chelsea navigated the game better, we just got to take our medicine at the end of the day. If there is a silver lining to this, it's that the need for a proper centre forward has been proper drilled in now.

I think we need a holding midfielder as well. If Rodri and Fernandinho aren't good enough to start a Champions League final ahead of a player for whom it's not his natural position, then we need to improve it.

Genuinely interested in your perspective of the game.
Ok,
I thought Pep made the wrong call by not starting with Rodri as it was a fundamental change to our system, also by playing Sterling we had to push Foden out of his best position. Key players just didn't play to their best and you can't afford this in a CL final and expect to win.
That said I thought Chelsea showed excellent organisation in defence and were the better team on the night.
