Champions League Final | Post-Match Thread

Well after a sleepless night trying to analyse what went wrong I think we can all say that Chelsea played the perfect game and congrats to them
But pep definitely chose the wrong setup
We would all be hailing him if it came off
But in reality I think we all knew after 10 minutes that it was going to be one of those games, you just had that feeling that something wasn’t quite right.
I think pep must have thought he had to change the side as tuchel would have been watching our games and setup accordingly
But I can’t remember a game this season
Playing that setup so the players probably wasn’t used to it either.
I know some on here will support players no matter how bad they play but last night was not a game to put Sterling in the shop window. He’s been hopeless for months and last night he offered nothing although some of dipper mates were saying he was our best attacker? Opinions eh
Anyway I love this team and have supported them for over 50 years I’m not going to let last nights loss spoil what been an incredible 10 years. Roll on next season

Yeah, it was shite but you're another poster who revels in it going wrong.

Is it Pep out again ?.....some seem to have been lying low waiting for a moment like this to say "I told you so".
Revels? I am heartbroken to lose a game in that way, take off the blue glasses, we messed up, messed up big time, Pep is not above serious justified criticism

I just wonder if, despite his " I don't care about the referee" verbals, Pep was genuinely afraid that Fernandinho would be targetted by the referee and get an early red card, hence the weird team selection. No other possible theory springs to mind.

Yeah that’s fair enough. I do worry about how much this will affect our players. If I were one of them I’d have lost a bit of faith in him last night
They were angry after Lyon, I just hope last night did not push a couple over the edge.

Like everyone else as soon as I saw the line up, I knew we were in trouble.

Fernandinho has been the best player in the world in that position. He's been superb all season, but more than that he leads by example and is a natural captain. He will break up play and provide cover for the defence. Why he didn't play mystified me. If he wasn't fit then Rodri should've played.

The midfield was an absolute mess and was overrun by Chelsea.
Make no mistake that formation was the result of trying to shoehorn in sterling, gundo, bernardo...while not wanting to drop phil. Its the result of spineless team selection. I've a feeling sterling was spitting his dummy over lack of champion league minutes and that shitehouse formation was the result.

Lets face it there was NOTHING about it tactically that worked so it has to be about accomodating whiney fuckers as pep is no idiot.

Shocking.
