Yes, quality players should adapt, but up against other quality players - Kante in particular - the margin is gonna be tight. They ended up with 8 players on the pitch with a defensive/controlling job partly coz they were seeing out the game and partly coz we looked better when de Bruyne went off as everyone looked more assured in their role so they had to tighten even more. But still as you say, an average game against a well drilled team.
 
The team lost rhythm between the PSG second leg and tonight
Sometimes it means fuck all, all this rest and games where you can rotate

Yes it was. The way peeps are tallong you'd think he changed the whole team. Can't help thinking Fernandinho would have got an early yellow tonight and may have been a liability for the rest of the game.

Fine margins, great defensive performance we couldn't crack and brilliant tackle to deny Foden was the difference between 0-1 and 1-1 at 90 mins.
 
The selection was unfathomable and the positioning of Foden incredulous. That said, not one player was at it tonight which is seriously concerning given the amount of time to prepare, and the enormous backroom assistance there is for every player. Not simply all Pep's fault.
 
Sell gundogun (even if it's for free), rodri, cancelo, Mendy, get Kante Grealish and kante

I was livid after the FA Cup, tonight we didn't play very well and lost to a breakaway goal. Shit happens. Same as in the FA Cup but at least tonight we had the chance to play the players we wanted to rather than whoever was fit after the game a few days previously.

" Good teams adapt " ..errr maybe in less drilled teams , we work at our best working to a formula. It works, our players are chosen to play to a certain way .
The trophies we've won are testament to that.
Changes to this formula are our downfall , not the players fault.

I think Chelsea deserved to win. I agree with you about people having tantrums, though. Not appropriate. Some people need to grow up.
