Cry Like An Egyptian.

Of course, I’m small-minded enough to be basking in Liverpool’s salty tears today (like everyone else), but let’s consider the bigger picture for a moment. Real, who I have no great love for either while we’re about it, beat PSG, Chelsea, us and Liverpool. Undeniably impressive. History will record that they were the best team in Europe that year.
Seriously, does anyone on here actually believe that? Really?

Many times, in the past, it was actually the best team in Europe that won it. That great team of Gullit, Van Basten, Rijkaard is a case in point. Pep‘s Barca is another. But very often over the past twenty years I haven’t felt that the team that won has been the best. I should say that I can never be bothered with watching the final (with the obvious exception). The last time I watched it was 2005.
The club want it, our owners want it, the players want it, and not a few of our supporters want it. Fine. Each to his own.
But for myself, I can genuinely say that I’m indifferent to it.
It’s a cup competition and anything can happen. Greece in 2004 proved that.

'Fortunate we're not talking about a major disaster'

There was an incompetence from the authorities - there was a lack of leadership, poor stewarding, the police being twitchy. They were indiscriminately going and pepper spraying and then tear gas through the fences towards the Liverpool fans.
I was in the press box when they made the first announcement about the game being delayed because of the "late arrival of fans". Fans did not arrive late - they were arriving on time. You know that for games like this fans want to get to the ground early and some were queuing for two-three hours because of the strange configuration of the Stade de France when you come up for the Metro. That was exasperated by some of the blocks that they'd put in place.
We are fortunate that we're not talking about a major disaster this morning.

No need for an investigation, Henry says that it's all down to the authorities, so clearly no dipper fans were to blame for any of the problems.
You do wonder how this awful set of fans manage to maintain such a hold over the media.
Guaranteed, 100% certain, no surer thing in life, Liverpool fans will get away with this.

Hopefully I am wrong but should another serious incident happen with the dippers.
Than the press/media should also be investigated.
They are part of the problem because they havent to balls to call the dippers out. The press/media let the dippers behaviour to go unquestion hence the dippers feel free to do as they wish.

The idiots going across the channel by boat, the press/media think it's great. No its bloody stupid.

Kloop telling the dippers to come to Paris without tickets, the press/media say nothing.

How can the British press/media ignore all the videos of dippers jibbing in ?

Nothing was said by the press/media at our senior final, yet again in the liverpool end it was a solid mass of people. Yet in our end the stairways were clear. The dippers must have jibb in at Wembley.

I hope that more people will now realise how in bed with the dippers our press/media are. Match going fans of all clubs now the real dippers and it's not the lovable rogue.

Fans didn’t arrive late :) ffs no wonder the tides turning when it comes to these rats ........ the majority of football fans know what these bastards are like so why don’t the media

I bet you any money that every football fan within the UK would have seen what was gonna happen hours before it did ............fake tickets fans climbing in you know the score when these rats are involved but yet again the cowards in the press won’t dare say a thing against them

so please Mr Winter how come the madrid end of the ground pass off incident free ????
Don’t tell the best Stewards police etc got hand picked to deal with that end ???
Did you in fact fall unlucky again when it comes to policing yet again

here’s a thought Henry you get 20,000 tickets and 20,000 fans who have purchased them tickets turn up just the 20,000 and magically it will pass off trouble free

There’s plenty of evidence out there to show that it definitely was caused by those shameless dickheads

the pro scouse media can write whatever they want but a picture tells a thousand words

And then this:

there were some ticketless fans who did try and get in, but the people I saw trying to climb the fences were predominantly local kids.

"Winter is coming."
