Understand that view and maybe I’m just a selfish bastard but that’s how I see it after years schlepping round. I would like to think that a decent percentage of the Everton tickets could be done on points too (now there is significantly more than the 2000 that were discussed as possible around Christmas) and then after that a seasoncard ballot for the remainder. I think Brighton are doing something similar. You couldn't exclude people from the Carabao Cup because they weren't to know. However, as neither CL nor Everton tickets have been announced, nobody faces retrospective prejudice for having attended the League Cup final.
Ordinarily I would agree that those with the most points get to attend but this is a season for which absolutely nobody has been able to see a game, barring 2,000 at the League Cup final. We have thousands of loyal fans who will have been unable to attend a game this season. It doesn't seem right to me that the league game will almost certainly be a ballot but the CL final will be done on points. If one is completely random as to who gets in then plenty of people with high points will miss out.
I realise some people want to be at every game but I'd be happy to give up one for the other to give someone else a chance. In this most unusual season, I am happy to share the viewing privileges but can understand that not everyone sees it that way.
It‘s dealing with all this kind of shit makes me hope so much for return to full stadia this summer
