Champions League Final | Tickets - City Official Package + UEFA Tickets | 2022 Final (pg 1033)

the example on the link shows it can be more than 72 hours. It’s government guidance, I don’t think airport staff will be pedantic but point them to that if they are.

feel for you mate having to repeat yourself mate :-)
I'll be taking a screenshot of that guidance if there are any issues at the airport coming home. Better hope I don't lose my phone pissed up as it'll also have the details of my pre-departure test on it!

I’m taking a test Thursday (27th) and travelling home on the Sunday (30th). My certificate will be dated the 27th and the airport staff is will recognise that as 3 days prior to departure for England. I think it’s fans who have converted the 3 days into 72hours. Government guidance never mentions 72 hours, it’s states in the 3 days prior before you depart. I understand that is a little vague but the video shows a clear example of travelling Friday, then you have to take a test on the Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday

It’s so important that people know the rules. Contradictory information could easily mean people are refused flights or sent home etc. Several were refused boarding at East Midlands yesterday
I think it’s pretty clear and the video clarifies everything. Must take a test in the 3 days prior to departure.
I think some fans have made their own rules of the 72 hours before departure rather than looking at the guidance. The guidance never mentions anything in hours.
I’m taking a test on the 27th, and returning to England on the same test on the 30th. Airport staff will recognise that as 3 days.

Maybe this will help fellow blue travellers.

Requirements for travel to Portugal as far as I understand it.

1. Private paid for PCR test taken within 72 hours of flight departure time (Portugal rule)
2. Private PCR or LFT test taken within three days of return flight to UK. Porto airport does LFT tests with 30 mins results. If you travel out within three days of your outbound test (i.e. Test Thursday, Fri or Sat, return Sunday) you can use the outbound test for the return.(UK rules)
3. Private PCR test pre booked before leaving for Portugal to be taken before day 2 after arrival back in UK, proof of test retained to show at border control. (UK rules)
4. https://portugalcleanandsafe.pt/en/passenger-locator-card, to be completed online after check in.
5. https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk, to be completed on line in the 48 hours before leaving for the UK. This is where you put the details of the test booked in step 3 above.

Temperature screening will take place on arrival in Portugal.

I think that's all I know for now.

Might be worth starting a new thread with this info.

Apologies, I see where some are getting the 72 hours from now. Those taking a test on Tuesday for a Friday flight may not be able to board under the portuguese rule

I wasn't aware of number 4. Just clicked on the link and it doesn't work. Not sure how this works with Spike's trip. Does anyone know if they organise check in in the days leading up to the trip, hence why we had to input our passport details at the time of booking? Meaning we can fill out the passenger locator card, say, the day before we fly out?

I’ve clicked on the link and it works for me on my phone. Just checked and it works on my lap top as well.

Christ. It’s not 72 hours. It’s just in the three days prior. I feel I MAY have posted this before (like further up this actual page)

Take a coronavirus test before you travel to England

You must have proof of a negative coronavirus (COVID-19) test to travel to England.

You must take a test even if:

You must take the test in the 3 days before the service on which you will arrive in England departs.

For example, if you travel directly to England on Friday, you must take the test on the Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

I feel your pain haha

I know it's a confusing situation but some posters seem to be ignoring the guidance given and making it up themselves, adding to the confusion.

And some posters are just posting stuff that is simply not correct, which doesn't help anybody.
