Seems strange. Maybe people were cancelling the cup schemes and not losing the poinsts.

That's exactly what it was. You could join, instantly get the points and cancel your direct debit the next day under the old rules.

I'd have thought it was pretty simple - if you were on the CL scheme for the 2019/20 season before the pandemic curtailed our attendance at football matches then the club will surely count that as being a current member of the CL scheme for when they announce the selling criteria for CL Final tickets.

So does that mean it can be over 72 hours as long as it’s on the third day prior to departure? E.g test Tuesday for a flight on the Wednesday? The government rules are vague in my opinion
Imagine if we score. Would be like the scene from only fools and horses when they are sat in the car outside the auction house.
Maybe it’s me, this is what’s on the website. What’s vague about it? They even give an example.

- you’ve been vaccinated
- you’re traveling from a country or territory on the green list
- you’re a UK citizen
For example, if you travel directly to England on Friday, you must take the test on the Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

So if you are doing Friday to Sunday, you can do the test on the Thursday before you leave, saving the hassle of having to do anything in Portugal?!
I see your point....but I wouldn’t be surprised if some do-gooder at the airport insist it has to be strictly within 72 hours and not ‘during the past 3 days’ (in which case a few hours more than 72 hours may be acceptable)
I leave at 6am Friday and return Mon at 4pm anyway so unless I have a test in the early hours of Friday morning the timing just won’t work unfortunately
