Noooooooo! I’m doing it on Wednesday for a Saturday departure so most definitely not cutting it that fine. ‘Pre-departure’ refers to the test being required before you ‘depart’ for Portugal.

A Saturday departure … you brave man … you’ll probably be circling Porto for 4 hours trying to get a slot in-between the 60 charters booked by City & Chelsea, not to mention the endless line of UEFA private jets :O

What’s the crack with the timings of tests, when is it valid from, when you take it or when you get the results?? It’s a right fuckin ball ache this, it’s like they are designed specifically to ensure your fucked at the airport

It’s valid from the day of the test. So if you test Weds but get result back Thursday, it won’t cover you for a flight home on the Sunday if that’s what you was thinking?

Just found this from City's official travel partner - Sportsworld (no, me neither)

Pertinent section.
UEFA and the Portuguese government have requested that all official travel is restricted to day trip private charters to reduce the chance of spreading COVID-19, due to thousands of supporters expected travel from the UK.

Similar to the clubs statement, you can interpret it however you wish, but I read that as no restriction on unofficial/independent travel.

Ye I’ve gone a step further and booked the 3 hour return one for the Thursday :-). Would be on edge all night waiting for my result to come through
