Champions League Final | Useful Information

Daft question no doubt, but first flight I’ve been on where this is the case. Checked in online for my Pegasus flight, and apparently mobile barcode service is not available for this particular flight. Just a case of rocking up at the airport earlier than usual to get a paper boarding card from the Pegasus desk? Have no check-in luggage so would be annoying having to queue behind everyone checking bags in just to get a boarding card. Cheers in advance

I was in Istanbul this time last year with my then 2 & 3 year old. Had no problems at all. Granted it wasn’t the CL final, but the turks were more than happy. Galatport will be more than fine. On Galatport ours were in a pretty slick bar till about midnight. They even went to fetch them some ice cream, even though they’d stopped food.

Again we took our kids on the Bosporus cruises they go all day, up the Bosporus then back out to the mouth, where you’ll likely see dolphins, then a stop in a small fishing village for food/drink..

Our kids while no where near 9 years old loved Istanbul, they love haggling in the grand bazaar, the cruise and the atmosphere on the street.

Be aware that there’s a lot, and I mean a lot of very young kids begging, Nevizadde was really bad for it. My wife really struggled seeing kids at the same age as our begging for scraps.
Cheers buddy for the feedback, much appreciated. The Galatport it is then

ee £7 a day is all i know
I’m with ee and have gone for an Esim with unlimited data 5 days for about £19. The £7 with ee is only 500mb data per day. I would chew that up no problem. Simple to buy and setup the Esim from what I have done and can tell.

@kerem gokmen do taxis accept cashless payments or cash only?
they accept credit cards mostly. actually i ve never used credit cards at taxis. but you may google, they use it.
they will like GBP or USD or EUR. they ll like it a lot. so give them those currencies if credit cards do not work.
cheers.

@Gundogan's Moustache
ok, still recieving, has recieved too many questions about TAXIS IN ISTANBUL. let's clarify it...
they accept credit/debit cards, but i ve never tried. why? because i do not use taxis. only public transportation. public transportation is good in istanbul. when i have some urgent issues sometimes i use my car; when i need to carry lots of documents etc. but maybe 2-3 times in a year. since the traffic is terrible.
ok about TAXIS.
we hate them; we have nicknames for them, i dont wanna write those.
why do we hate them
ok,
-----------------------------MY PESIMISTIC/SCAREMONGER MODE ON (FOR THE LAST TIME UNTIL YOU LEAVE ISTANBUL --------------------------------
1- istanbul is a 20 million metropole. how many taxis are there? only 18k
2- taxi licence plates are owned my mafia. it has a market; 1 taxi plate is at the moment above 400k USD something. mafia own the plates, and they hire drivers.
3- since taxi plates has a market (supply/demand) they dont want to increase the number of taxis; that 18k.
4- they are the guys of government. in 2019 istanbul municapility elections, opposition party won istanbul. they try to solve this problem; to increase the number of taxis; but government did not allow that.
5- uber came in 2015 or something; then things get better. but taxi mafia started to beat uber drivers, really. then the government banned uber. so no uber.
6- when it rains, taxis do not take you. when you wanna travel short distances; they do not take you.
7- a very bad story; in 2016 a terrorist attack occured in Istanbul airport (old one). do you know what taxi drivers did there while people trying to get out of airport region. they triplled the prices. that happend. by the way; in 2015-16 there was this terror shit, like any other metropoles on earth. (i send my condolences about 2017 manchester incident). now istanbul is as safe as any other metroploles. dont worry.
8- even kadıkoy taxi drivers are nicer guys; in 2005-2007 for example, i am living in kadıkoy center, my girlfriend was living 30km from kadıkoy center. when we party at weekends, drink, we were taking a taxi from kadıkoy, and i was never leaving my girlfriend alone in the taxi, taking her to her home, and coming back to kadıkoy again, paying lots of money. so thats an issue also. still. at night. for girls.
9- i lived in amsterdam for 5 years. this ''short distance'' shit was an issue there also since in amsterdam taxi drivers are mostly turks/kurds; also some incidents happend there a few years ago because of that. anyway....actually it happened when i was there i think; i was saying the drivers ''ok ill pay 30 euros, please take me to that place etc''
10- SO..... for you: it is easy to find taxis at airports; because they love to travel long distances.
11- for example; matchday, you drink at nevizade and want to go to the stadium by a taxi from taksim: thats an issue. you may not find one. i dont know what will happen that day. thats why i reccommend metros, or use uefa shuttles, i dont know about them, you know better.

i hope taxi mafia is not reading this :))))))) anyway... i cant care less.

------------------------------SCAREMOGNER MODE OFF-------------

sorry if are bore you, but thats important info about taxis
act accordingly
cheers.

one more thing about taxis:

one of the things they like the most is (esp airport taxis): if they understand that you do not know the city (istanbul is not a city, it is a big country), they take you to a istanbul tour :)))) they extend the route....

so, when you take a taxi, esp from airport, tell them that ''YOU KNOW THE ROUTE'', make them feel that you know the route.
cheers.

Came today after midnight from Sabiha to Istiklal street - started at around 00:20. 480 YTL according to counter (22 USD). At the same time roads were free of traffic as it was at night. Took 40-45 minutes

Download the Uber or BiTaski app.
You'll get a set fare from the airport to the place where you are staying. No haggling and no getting ripped off.

The club have been advised by the British Consulate in Istanbul that passport will be required as ID.

The club have raised this as a risk and the consulate will have extra staff on standby should someone lose their passport. A replacement would cost £100 and take three days to process.

If the worst happens I could do another three days in Istanbul.

Have you used the Pegasus app?
I got the same message as you on the website but could check in properly on the app and got a barcode.

Is that for stadium access?

Anyone know how long check-in times are at Manchester Airport at the moment? Flying out from T2 this afternoon at 2pm.
