Champions League Group Stage Round 1 - 16/17 Sept

Surprising results today. I cannot believe that Chelsea dropped points against Schalke at home. Will have to watch the game to see how that happened. Fantastic result for Schalke and even better than Sporting and Maribor drew.

Arsene probably wondering why gervinho starting to play like a superstar after he moved to Italy lol

The bigger pitches help him a lot as does the general lack of pace that Italian players have. Gervinho is not the greatest when it comes to striking a ball, but he is very fast and a great dribbler. Had a good world cup too.

Really worrying. They should've been banned from competing. I'm worried about city fans who are going to roma. Travel in group larger than 2?

Iturbe will almost certainly be out against City, what a dagger for us! That was a key matchup to exploit. Ljajic is not a winger, he's too slow for that role, and Florenzi is defensive-minded and adapted too, plus he doesn't dribble, he has pace though and acrobatic finishings, hard worker but clearly limited,

Astori is injured too, probably a month for him, while Castan's injury is sketchy, a muscular one, he doesn't want repercussion in the future, it would be the third in a short period of time if it happens, more like a psychological issue I'd say, he may give it a go or not. At least Manolas proved to be a rock, he was replaced for precaution against Cska, and Yanga Mbiwa is ok as 4th CB, we can't really ask for more, it may cause issues in the pecking order, like having Nastasic as 4th CB, simply a waste.

We don't look too good but we can compete and win, even if we lose 2 games against Bayern and you win both against Cska we would still be tied a 6 points with our last game at home.

We need Pjanic to step up and Nainggolan to play beastfully as he did recently. Totti won't press but will put anynone in front of Hart with one touch.

Destro-Totti-Gervinho might be the offensive trio, we lose pace but the first two really have great chemistry, Destro has great movements while Totti brilliant passing skills to find him, so I'm not worried if that is the case.

Navas against Cole will be a nightmare, Torosidis should definitely play on the left, Aguero is too quick as well, meanwhile Djeko doesn't worry me.

Good luck.

P.s. Comparing Sagna with Maicon is blasphemous.
