Champions League - seat relocations

I think this needs highlighting, if you are a season ticket holder and are not in the Cup scheme you have no guarantee of claiming your seat, as someone in the Cup scheme may well have bought it. If your seat is not available due to regulations for the Champions league game you will have a better chance of getting a seat near to your original seat if you are in the Cup Scheme. I personally think the Club could have handled this better, by at least spelling it out to season ticket holders, especially those forced to move for all Champions League games. (and yes i know that it is probably in the small print somewhere). I'm pretty sure there will be a few disgruntled season ticket holders this week ! The clubs attitude at present seems to be join the Cup scheme or tough luck !
Actually they did spell it out when they announced the cup schemes
They then did a reminder either weds or thurs of last week on the web site and set email and text reminders

Is it a bit too much to expect press and uefa types to have a hint of integrity and get tickets which aren't already allocated to loyal City fans who've been sitting in the same seats for the best part of a decade? Way too much I'm afraid

The clubs attitude had got little if anything to do with anything related to this topic. It's pure regulation and logistics. If we see sustained success they will have to limit the cup scheme or bring in levels of membership to address it, at the minute the cup scheme is working only because of relatively low uptake.
I would have to disagree about the attitude. I understand regulations have to be applied, however i think the Club could have been a little more courteous towards Season ticket holders whos seats have become unavailable. It surely wouldn't take much to warn those effected and to offer the best alternative seating and to spell out the implications of not being in the Cup scheme ! I really do hope that good customer service does not start to suffer due to our success and the ability to get more people through the gates.

And maybe the increased away supporters could just fill in the gaps too, I'm sure we'd all like that.

But seats aren't "already allocated" to us for any cup games. The season ticket is for league games only. The cup scheme is not an extension of the season ticket so we cant guarantee getting the same seat even though we usually can.

My mate is in EL2 and is in the CL cup scheme and has had the aforementioned letter. He's effectively paid to secure his seat and now can't have it.

Why have the club sold him the cup scheme knowing full well that he can't get all the benefits of being on the scheme? The only benefit he has is the extra points and he can buy a relocated seat a couple of days before me. I'm not on the scheme but it's less likely that someone will choose my seat and it's more likely that I'll have to move due to closure of EL3.

But having been a season ticket holder for the best part of the last 4 decades i have always been guaranteed 'My seat' for all cup games. This is a new policy and one that needs addressing !

I don't see why a season ticket holder not signed up to the cup scheme shouldn't be allowed a period of time to claim his own seat.

I've just been told me Napoli seat has been sold already. Well fuck it, I'll put the money towards the Fulham game and watch Napoli on telly. Well done City you've just made me do something I'd never otherwise dream of, miss a home game. Yeah I know I've cut my nose off to spite my face, but I really disagree with the club on this one.

Not to me they didn't, and i am pretty sure you will see a lot of other disgruntled Season ticket holders voicing discontent who also did'nt realise the implications !

FAQ's from OS

(If I ) join the Cup Scheme, will I be able to keep my usual seat for all the home cup games?

We will try our best, but unfortunately, due to certain stadium configuration changes deemed necessary by the Club, and the rules, regulations and requirements of the competitions in which the Club participates, we cannot guarantee that your usual seat will be available for every home cup game. If your seat isn’t available, we will give you a sales period to select an alternative seat before they go on sale to other Membership holders who are not registered in the Cup Scheme.

I don’t wish to join the Cup Scheme, but I am planning to attend as many home cup games as possible. As a seasonal member, will I be able to keep my usual seat for all the home cup games?

We will try our best, but your seasonal seat is not reserved or guaranteed and will be available to Superbia and Gold/Platinum Cup Scheme members who need to select alternative seats. All Gold and Platinum members will then have a sales period to select their seasonal seat or an alternative seat before they go on sale to Blue members and then non-seasonal members.

So no, they are not guaranteeing it, but they are suggesting that if you have a ST they will do their best. What then, exactly is their best?
