Champions League Semi-Finals

Re: So Chelski v Atletico then ... who do you want to win?

AUPA ATLETI!!!!

Celebrating 20 years as a "colchonero" this very spring. I wasn´t a fan back in 74 (Bayern) but that game is still talked about and we have to lay that ghost once and for all. We can do Madrid in a one off final as proved last season. They will be without Alonso as well - suspended

quite clear that Chelsea are just going to sit there and pounce on Atleti on the counter, they desperately don't want to concede an away goal, going to be a repeat of the first leg unless Simeone has somehow worked it out.

Chelsea: Schwarzer, Azpilicueta, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry(c), Cole, Luiz, Ramires, Willian, Hazard, Torres.
Subs: Hilario, Kalas, Van Ginkel, Oscar, Schurrle, Ba, Eto'o.

Atletico Madrid: Courtois, Juanfran, Godin, Miranda, Filipe, Tiago(c), Mario Suarez, Koke, Arda Turan, Adrian, Diego Costa.
Subs: Aranzubia, Alderweireld, Raul Garcia, C Rodriguez, Diego, Sosa, Villa.

Referee: Nicola Rizzoli (Italy).

This matchup is always going to be intriguing as both teams are best when they let the other team have the ball.

With the first game goalless this is on a knife edge. If Chelsea dun score and just try to defend, a late away goal will kill them off. They have to get a goal. Unless they are going for penalties.

Mourinho going 5 at the back or Azpilicueta in midfield?

Either way this game is probably going to be shite to watch.

To be fair I have never been entertained by them anyway, so it's no change I would like them to win nonetheless

I never thought there would come a period when I rooted for Chelsea three times in a row. Especially against a City-like Spanish club.

I feel dirty.

-- Wed Apr 30, 2014 6:15 pm --

I don't think we should ever rule out the penalties strategy where Mourinho is involved.

Villa is not starting. Is he injured or just unable to get back to form. Pity cuz in his heyday, he was arguably the best pure striker in the world.

Can you imagine going to penalties in this match with the Athletico keeper being owned by Chelsea and Chelsea having to play their reserve keeper due to injury? High drama indeed!

I wonder how Chelsea are going to set up? 3 at the back, or Azpilicueta playing RW? My guess would be the latter.

I think this will be tight the whole way through, but reckon Chelsea's experience might see them through here.
