I believe the rules state he must have 2 years where he was eligible to play for us. That doesn't happen until the work permit.

I'm no sports lawyer but eleigbility to work and to play football for a club are two separate things. Nacho had in fact already played for us as a 'trialist' on the preseason tour of the states! I think he will have done his 2 years in January but we will only know when the squad lists go in.

Just looking on this season's Wikipedia article, and some Brexiteer is having a little chuckle to themselves no doubt, as the English players are all listed as non-EU!

So we have to lose 3 players from those 20, or lose 2 from there and 1 HG.

Nasri, Delph, Yaya seem the most likely to me. We've heard lots of stuff about Fernando and Navas staying, I haven't heard anything about Delph. Nasri and Yaya seem 50/50.

Maybe Zinchenko will play in the league, but not the Champions League.

- If Zinchenko isn't loaned out, keep him for league + cups
- Doubt we'll get Bruno Peres (link isn't very strong), we can use Denayer at right-back (where he played at Galatasaray)
- Use Delph in league + cup games

Id take a look at the Bruno Peres thread again, it seems like we're very much going for him.

Zinchenko not in the CL seems like a good shout.

I think Delph might have to go. Sad because I like him and he didn't get much of a chance, but where does he fit in? What does he bring that we don't have?

Got to be with the club for 2 years before he qualifies as U21 for the Champions League. Stricter rules than the Prem. So, yes he can go right into our Domestic squad and doesn't count...but if we want him on the CL squad he has to be given one of the 17 spots.

Cheers. Trying to understand the CL squad rules can be damn confusing.
