Who reckons we don't have to leave anyone out and that's what the delay is. Break it to them gently UEFA

?????

They seemed willing to negotiate re home grown players, why not renegotiate now. We may have leverage

That's possible, nobody outside the club and UEFA seems to know the exact detail of the restrictions that apply to this squad selection - for example how many players can we change (normally a max. of three)?

They'll have to check with Wenger first, won't they?

It wouldn't bother me if Dzeko was included and Bony wasn't, Bony has it all to prove with us and it'd keep him fit, fresh and with a point to prove for our Premier League games.

It would bother me quite a lot. Edin has fully reverted to lazy mode and hasn't been scoring the goals to justify that this season.

Dzeko has been injured for the last few months and while he wasn't scoring for fun before that there was nothing wrong with his workrate.

I wish I was wrong but sadly Dzeko wasn't scoring even before the injury and has had plenty time now to get back match fit......With a squad as strong as ours it good for players to know that they have to earn their place in the side and it isn't a given.....Going off this season (no point talking about past seasons as its the here and now that count!) Dzeko should be left out but I think he's one of Pelle's favs and will be kept in....

Re: Champions League Squad

Shakhtar's squad was put on the UEFA site 15 minutes ago !!

But Shakhtar tweeted it some time before UEFA put it out

So we 're not waiting for UEFA to issue it first

Seems that City could tell us if they wanted to

Early closing on Wednesday in downtown Shaktar. All gone for a quick pint on the way home.

You have to make this decision on the basis you assume you might get to the CL final. Would you want Bony and Dzeko available if we got that far over say a Jovetic or Sagna? You would, they are both proven goal scorers. You would definitely want them to choose from over an ageing cover player or young developing player!

I assume the validation of the squad is Uefa checking all the finer detail as the rules are very complex. Having had a scan I see no reason why we can’t drop Boyata for one of the EDS keepers as long as they have done sufficient time at the club to count as club trained i.e. 3 years. That would allow us to drop Willy for Bony. It is that sort of complex detail they night need to do some homework on!

Let me get this straight....

You say the decision should be made on the basis that we may make the final and you're happy for Lawlor or Gunn to be backup for Hart?

Another thing, the homegrown or clubgrown position doesn't have to be filled, we choose to fill it with Boyata.

And lastly, the young keepers are on the B list so don't need to be named in the 21 to be eligible.

Yes, I'd take a chance on a 3rd choice back up keeper as ultimately something has got to give. I'd take that over telling Jovetic to do one.

The A list must contain two keepers, the technicality is whether a player eligible for the B list can be on the A list to make up the required 2 keepers.

Gunn joined from Norwich in 2011, Lawlor signed in 2010, they're both eligible as club-trained, it's something I hadn't thought of before although it's a big risk leaving out one of only 4 centre halves with Vinny so injury prone.

Very simple really. Uefa are "validating" City's squad - tell City what players can be in squad - then - IF City happen to reach the Semi' -of Champs. League -Uefa go into a flat spin - and inform City that we played an illegible player - in the Quarters - City protest - Uefa says City "misunderstood
the rules and regulations" - City get thrown out of the competition.........Seemples!
