You played well and are undoubtedly the best team in that division. Having lost Maddison, Barnes, Tielemans, Castagne etc you’ve done exceptionally well
The recruitment last summer was spot on, Maresca chose players that would fit our playing style and qualities who would be Prem-ready for 2024.

Its just such a shame that it had to come to this though, our board should have sacked Rodgers the season before where we finished 8th. They had a second chance to sack him at the start of last season, if they did it in October, we would have got Emery while he was still available and Leicester would still be in Europe, thats what makes this Championship season so frustrating to Leicester fans. No one has took accountability or provided closure as to how they let us drop from finishing 5th to finishing 8th to being relegated with pretty much the same players. Yet the media loved to orally stimulate Rodgers and fuel his inflated ego during his time here.

Rodgers must have had the worst man-management in Premier League history to relegate an FA-Cup winning side and Europa league playing side. Last season we had the 15th highest wage bill in Europe too, it still baffles me to this day, what must have went on in the dressing room. Not replacing Schmeichel definitely hurt too.

Looking ahead however, I'm excited for what Maresca has planned in this summer rebuild.

Southampton shitting the bed at the wrong time of the season. If they lose today (2-1 down against Millwall), that'll be 3 defeats in their last 4 league games

I've read that they've reverted to type and gone back to Martin-ball in the past few weeks. At least they smashed the possession and passing stats!! Unfortunately scoring goals wins games :)

Good win for us today and we deserved it, shame everybody else bar Rotherham at the bottom won too.

Stoke dragged into it now, be interesting how they respond as mentally their players wouldn't have expected to be in a relegation fight.

I told you months ago not to give up hope. You're only 3 points from safety (your GD isn't great, mind). Keep believing.

First 13 games our ppg was 0.23 and we were on to finish the season with 9 points, since Rohl took over our ppg is now 1.38.

It's night and day the difference, we're still gonna get results like getting spanked at Southampton but now we also look like winning games.

I'm including this in the Championship thread because this is where Sheffield United were heading before a ball was kicked this season.

Today I've had further confirmation (if any were needed) that some people are just cunts, no matter how much you've made an effort with them.

One of the Dad's at my daughter's footy team is a Sheffield United supporter who likes to have a dig at City at every opportunity. I've only ever shared pleasantries with him and brief words about our respective teams and never had a cross word with the bloke though I tend to put him right calmly when needed - maybe I'm much too tolerant and I don't want to make a scene. The latest dig made me smile.

He came up to me on Saturday morning unprompted with a smug grin and "I see City have taken the foot off the pedal". I didn't see the need to explain that's the same City who'd just won 12 out of 13 games (prior to Bournemouth) and its fair to say our Boys in Blue have worked very hard in that spell - Pep demands no less! If the 2nd half at Dean Court is anything to go by, the players are clearly knackered after the Chelsea and Brentford games!

I just settled for a bit of mild sarcasm that they must be lazy winning 12 out of 13, because I wasn't going to give the smug **** the satisfaction.

Most Blades I know are sound, though some of the occasional jealous inverted snobbery can be tiresome, but what I wanted to say to this **** was "Does your Sheffield United car even have a fuckin pedal or a gear other than reverse because I only see it going backwards."

As somebody wisely said to me a while back, in this life there are people who are cunts and there are people who are not cunts. This Blaiiide fell into the former category.

I hope he enjoys his Steel City Derby next season that little bit less next season (hopefully).

Ah, that's better, I feel better for sharing that...nurse...
