Champs League Draw

Gripes me when fellow blues say "Oh I feel sorry for them" im like "WHAT!!!!" Never ever feel sorry for them bastards, if the shoe was on the other foot they would be giving it full throttle!!!

Dunno about that. During all the years of pain I could take the abuse but what really hurt though, in 98-99, was the pity I got from some of them.
It was like we were so far beneath them we weren't even rivals anymore in their eyes. I don't think we are anywhere near that stage yet
but (give it time) I look forward to feeling sorry for them. At the moment I'm no where near that stage but already after the MK Dons result
I feel slightly embarrassed that their name includes the word Manchester!

i think it's time a lot of us grew a pair and said 'bring it on'

give us the hardest group, i seriously think we should top any group that the draw can throw at us. 7 points at home and 6 away, good stuff.

Always thought this, when we was shit and dreamed of City in the CL I wanted us to play barca, real and all the "big boys", I never once thought "you know it would be cool to play that shit team from Bulgaria"...

I smell group of death for us again. UEFA makes sure we atleast won't win group.

This will back fire on them very soon - possibly this year - if we eliminate one of their "darlings".
I think UEFA must realise that we now have experience of the competition and could conceivably top any group.
I doubt we'll be stitched up in the draw this time round but still fear the officials in the knock out phase.

Maribor's a good trip if it pans out later. It's managed to shed much of its socialist past in recent years & is now a modern, vibrant town. Been there 3 times & Orel + Best Western decent hotels. Fly to Graz & 1 hour drive across border.

As a little side note, in 99 when we beat Gillingham and they fluked it against bayern, the bragging and piss taking from the plastic rags I know was in overload and they said we'd never ever be in the Champions league, which was a fair comment to be honest as I felt the same but the sneering and cockiness from them and their arrogance always stayed with me....
Today, 15 years later,in the same week the rags got battered 4-0 off a team who didn't exist 10 years ago and the reigning premier league champions kicked off their defence of their title with a resounding 3-1 win at home, I await the champions league draw.
Manchester City are in it.
Manchester United are not....
Ain't karma a woman.

Absolutely wonderful replay. That's why we must always remember where we come from.

People actually think this is real, which says it all really...

Next out of the pot were Basel. They were immediately excluded from Pots A,B,D & E as past Champions League winners cannot be drawn in the group stage against a team that sounds like a herb. This left only Pots C ,G and H, as they couldn’t go into G either due to possible clashes with Viktoria Plzen, and UEFA rules stress that any team named after a girl must not be paired either with a herb, a Portuguese team (the Portuguese secretly lobbied for this rule prior to the 2006/7 draw, having previously gone out of Europe to the little known Romanian club Lily Plovdiv), or a team that won the European Cup in the 1960’s.
Really should give it away tbf.

Great advice - except you cant fly to Graz direct from the UK.
