Whilst ever they live with us we wouldn’t charge them anything. Completely get asking for rent money to tee them up for the future but it’s not something neither I or the wife feel comfortable doing. I guess once our babies always our babies. Probably being very daft mind

My mum did that, put all my rent in a savings account to go towards my deposit.It's a gentle introduction to the realities of the world. You can always keep it for them for later on when they may need it for a house deposit etc.

Surely whether or not you feel comfortable doing it, in the long term it's preparing the kids for reality and the big wide world outside, the main part of a parents duty. You dont actually have to take it, just stuff it into a high saving account or similar on their behalf and watch their angelic little faces light up when you hand it back as a wedding present.Whilst ever they live with us we wouldn’t charge them anything.
