Whilst ever they live with us we wouldn’t charge them anything. Completely get asking for rent money to tee them up for the future but it’s not something neither I or the wife feel comfortable doing. I guess once our babies always our babies. Probably being very daft mind

And when they meet, marry and move to Australia and you can't see your grandchild, you will think to yourself, ok I cant see my grandson but at least I'd be wedged. :-)

It's a gentle introduction to the realities of the world. You can always keep it for them for later on when they may need it for a house deposit etc.

And you'd then be able to visit them from the money they'd paid you whilst they were living at home.
