Heard he’s left city. Fair play if left for a pathway, but if its for money then good riddance
City pay at youth level better than anyone really. I'd be surprised if our kids ever leave for money. They'll be leaving because they think there's no chance of a career here. Sancho's success and Foden's frustration is a bad combo.

Is that not at least in part that the academy is chock full of quality?We lose so many very talented youngsters these days. It's pretty bad tbh. More and more every year. Strikers in particular.

In part and when it comes to strikers then they have Aguero, Jesus Sterling ahead of them then it makes sense they see dropping down a level to get game time and see Sancho as an example of of how it can be a stepping stone with game time. Not sure there ‘s a great deal we can do except hope some are a bit more patient like Foden has been or are happy to try loans to prove themselves, hopefully Foden and Garcia get the game time soon to show patience can work too if and it’s a big if you are talented enough most academy players won’t be.Is that not at least in part that the academy is chock full of quality?
It's also a population vs squad issue.
The population of talent will increase faster than the talent that leaves (retires), but the squad size will basically stay the same forever.
Think of the next 10 years, suppose we keep Jesus that whole time, Aguero leaves soon, then we would need atleast another striker in that time period.
If it's an amazingly talented academy player then great, but still, over 10 years is a tremendous amount of strikers our academy will go through and lose.
Obviously city isnt even good at integrating academy players to begin with, but just trying to show another perspective that will get worse with time for ALL clubs.

Oh yeah that might be part of the overall reason. McNeil has a fight to even get ahead of Delap in the youth teams, never mind the first team squad. Delap is brilliant
