Ched Evans - serious injury

I find it a bit odd that some people are demanding that Jessica Ennis-Hill should apologise.
I wouldn't go as far as asking her to apologise. But, seeing as Evans has been found not guilty, she should consider issuing a public statement retracting her stance re. Sheffield United removing her name from the stand if they re-signed Evans. After all, the situation has totally changed now with today's verdict. Looking for an apology from her is pushing it a bit, to be honest.

I think the whole Ennis thing, like with a lot of the publicity on this could have been done without the grandstanding and public comments.

Have a word to the Sheff Utd board, say you don't want it to happen. Let them make their decision.

Was a bit uneasy about a lot of the grandstanding on this case while there were still avenues of appeal.

Apology would be a bit pointless, and for a lot of people they stiĺl oppose what he did that night whether it was a crime or not.

She's got nothing to retract though - she said she didn't want he name associated with the club employing a convicted rapist.

Whether you agree with her or not, that's her right, and Evans being acquitted doesn't actually change her broader stance - she didn't care about who the rapist was.

Expecting an apology - for what? Having an opinion? Voicing it when asked?

Fair comment.

In hindsight she'd have been better-off saying that she didn't want her name to be associated with a Club which employed a scummy twat capable of such scummy twat behaviour. That would have stood the test of the trial, the re-trial and the ultimate not guilty of rape verdict.

It is fortunate he had the money and the backing to fund his legal team for a retrial .not everyone in his position would be in a position to mount such a defence and would remain guilty as charged.

I'm not saying that what he did was morally right, but it wasn't illegal and that's the important thing and the grounds on which he lost a good chunk of his career. It's a bit like the reverse of the Adam Johnson situation though- even after the evidence has been found to prove Evans not guilty, some people are still determined that he's a disgusting rapist who should be locked up for life. On the contrary, Johnson was proved guilty but some people were just too stubborn to accept it.

Lets just stop making victims where there are none... adults go out get pissed and get laid because they want to, grown women choose to get pissed all by their little selves(they are capable of taking decisions like this on their own believe it or not) and they also like sex just as much as men in some cases and choose to go out intending to find it too(big shock). In fact a lot of women like men go out to do both getting very drunk and getting laid in that order because they are more comfortable doing it that way, it's happened for centuries get a fucking grip some of you.

This. As long as the bloke hasn't gone spiking her drink then there's rarely a problem. To claim that drunk men should have the sense not to have sex with drunk women comes across as a bit of a double standard.

Yeah I bet he's counting his lucky stars lol

Yeah maybe not an apology however she made it public and put out a statement at that point if Sheff Utd signed him back. She didn't really need to do that so on the same level now he is cleared she should make a similar statement saying how she wouldn't remove her name if he was re signed
