Ched Evans - serious injury

It is fortunate he had the money and the backing to fund his legal team for a retrial .not everyone in his position would be in a position to mount such a defence and would remain guilty as charged.
You are correct, but notwithstanding, and whatever one thinks about his morals, his resiliance and persistence were both remarkable.

I don't think the case was ever strong enough to go to Court in the first place with or without the "new evidence."
It was essentially a rape case with no complainant and no evidence other than Evans' admission that he had sex with her.

He had nothing to lose by keep saying he was innocent and by going for a retrial. Money talks most other people would not beable to afford the lawers fees.

I think you grossly underestimate what being subject to such proceedings can take from you emotionally. In this instance not once, but twice - and in the public eye too. That takes a great deal of resiliance to endure, irrespective of the depth of someone's pockets. Plenty of people would have given up, for fear of failing again (and again), so to say he had nothing to lose wrong imo.

They have both suffered but as everyone was slapping him on the back i thought i would balance it up and her name is out there that is why she has had to move around a lot
The CPS are to blame if you ask me.

She reported no rape. Ched freely admitted he slept with her and didn't try and hide it. It was someone at the CPS that has ruined two people's lives (at least for five years). Yet fuck all happens to that person.

Another issue i feel is that society in gernal expects a high moral standard or set of principles from celeberaties which is evident from this thread too. People will feel strongly about a celeberity wrong doing which in other case they might not give 2 cents about. Would his case gone so further with victim not accusing him of rape had he not been a professional footballer? I doubt it but thats just my opinion. I know the counter argument is celebs are role models, they are being looked upto but it doesnt mean the basic principle of law should be forgotten that every one is equal in the eyes of law.

The point i am making is most people could not aford the lawers fees for a retrial .i dont underestimate what him or the girl went through in terms of beings in the spotlight .he has cleared his name in law but the law of public opinion is difetent .for what it worth i dont think it should have gone to court in the first place and i also dont understand how one get found not guilty without the other

we all know this won't be the last time it happens. Footballers/celebrities out on the piss, young girls full of drink desparate enough that even sleeping with the guys mate gives them enough of their starry eyed buzz
