If i'm going to an away game, I will always buy my ticket as soon as I have enough points.

I would say most people will, as there's no benefit to wait until it goes to all seasoncards and risk losing out.

Wouldn't say the club are calling our bluff, as would have no reason to.

Not everyone does.

And besides that, it's simply the psychology of having people panic at the thought of missing out. As you'll have seen by some replies in this thread.

If people imagine tickets are at a premium for a game they hope to attend they'll be more likely to buy at the first opportunity and disregard the prices etc.

I guarantee it'll go to very low points at least, but I'd imagine all seasoncard holders would be fine.
It sold out 3 weeks before the game last year to about 3000 points, there is no way it will get to any season ticket holders.

Possibly the reason for the high points threshold could be the amount of hospitality tickets sold.

All hospitality for the derby had to be bought alongside another game, so if most people chose the next biggest game, than a lot of tickets for Chelsea will be going that way.

You could well be right, there seemed to be quite a number of hospitality types in the upper tier at last seasons fixture.

No it certainly didn't, I waited to buy mine until a mate of mine with less points qualified and he had less than 2500.

I'm pretty sure it went on open sale, but I could be wrong.

I didn't think it sold out at all last season, there was a small block of empty seats on the upper tier.

The club sent an email to the OSC's asking how many tickets they wanted, and asked for this information earlier than normal. They were using the OSC's as a guide as to how many tickets to ask for. This does not mean OSc's will get all tickets asked for, but they just wanted to use them as a guide.

The reason being that if City took 3,000 and didn't sell them, then they cannot return them, but have to pay for them. So imagine 1,000 unsold tickets at £55 each.

I know this cos i spoke to someone at the club and she told me this.

Alright blues !

Been viewing bluemoon for years now and decided to sign up today !
(Que the comments of RAG and gloryhunter LOL !)
;)

I have 3800 points. I am another in the position where i have already bought train tickets for Chelsea away and am now worried I won't get a ticket.

If anyone not going has a spare seasoncard with a high number of points on i could use the supporter no. of i'd really appreciate it and be more than happy to buy you a pint at the next home game.

De Niro are you there ? ;) ;)
