Chelsea (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Thought Bernado was absolutely immense - for 20 mins in the second half, and than he yanked him! Cucarela must have wondered what hit him. No one attacks him for 45 mins than Bernie does him 4/5 times in 20 mins.
Wouldn't supprise me if we saw Bernie out wide in the cup at weekend.
Agreed. Bernardo was starting to really influence the game so I was surprised to see him pulled. I'm in the minority but I like him out on the wing. He was so fun to watch out there a few years ago.

What is it with City fans and KDB. Yeah he made a couple of bad passes and lost possession, but this is a world class player who can turn a game in a flash. Had Haaland reached that cross it would've been 2-0

KDB = first name on the teamsheet everytime.

On ability, yes. In practice, no. He’s brittle and - because he’s so valuable to us - needs to be played more sparingly.

He’s overplayed at both club and country level for someone of his fitness/injury record. Looks bolloxed at times.

I watched the game on Bein or whatever it was, with Andy Townsend being pundit. On here everyone's talking about Pep playing our team largely out of position... I didnt understand where this was coming from I mean its how this team has been so so so great over the years so why is it now a problem?

Then I switched to Sky, that red twat Carraghers banging on about Cancelo or whoever being played out of position. and the penny dropped...

Why are you guys, City fans, taking on board what he says (About a club he loathes), and repeating that shite. Its bollocks. I think nearly every player bar Haaland has played out of position over the years and its never been a problem, even in the year lfc won the title.

Really annoys me when City fans parrot what our haters say.
Mate on paper this was the team apart from Foden started instead of JG. Everyone was relatively happy with that.

On the pitch this was the monstrosity,

Don’t need anyone to tell me that isn’t right. Can see it a mile away.

I didn’t watch via Sky, so didn’t hear Carragher’s comments, and I can independently verify with 100% confidence that at least one influential person on earth agreed with Carragher (and many blues on here) that the first half formation and tactics were not working. You may have heard of him, he’s popular in certain football circles.

I watched the game with Townsend commenting should be bellend really. Totally biased to his former club. Thought about switching to Sky but realised that spit the dog was on comm. No escaping these bitter fuckwits. I need to explore the possibility of crowd noise only when watching a City game

Look, we play precision football and at the start of every season it takes about a month to get into our groove. The World Cup has similarly set us back - but the precision passes will return. I'm not worried - we beat a team chosen from a lavishly assembled squad at their ground. If the ball was on the other foot and we had a few injuries, no media outlet would give us that excuse because of the resources available. Same for Chelsea. About time a big time opponent muffed their chances against us. We won fair and square with an unusual formation (nothing wrong with doing something different - even when it doesn't resemble the usual Rolls Royce) - more shots, more possession, more passes, more goals.

But we have a lot of paranoid, shithouse fans (various outlets) who can't stop saying 'but Chelsea cudda done this and that'. Fact is they didn't and the cudda/wudda/shudda brigade keep embarrassing themselves and the rest of us.
