Chelsea (A) Post Match Thread

Ah well, let's try and be gracious in defeat.

Too many players had an off day, was gobsmacked when sane was hauled off also. Not so sure on rudiger getting praise though, he looked overly eager today and a weak link, we could have done with Sergio playing off him, forcing a rash challenge or a mistake.

But we have the big names to be back, a different competition to get our heads right, and a long way to go.

Will be more twists no doubt. Just have to put up with the ungracious dippers until we can knock them back off the top.

Don't understand people saying Pep got the team wrong. That seems to be the default statement when we have a bad day but what else could he have done? Play Jesus from the start? He's certainly not playing anything like a match winner at the moment. That was our strongest available line up.

As others have said up until their goal we were dominating the game, second half we were abysmal. We don't go behind very often, and it seems to knock the stuffing out of us when we do.

And considering CFC got turned over by the mighty Wolves in midweek, I thought the starting line up was pretty strong! We need to score when we are dominant and take the sting out of the opposition. The longer a game goes on and we don't score the opposition begin to sniff that there might be something in the offing. CFC were battered in the first half and we should have had the game done and dusted. We create chance after chance and see some lump of a journeyman pro get one shot on target and we concede. We might well have won that game had we had a fraction of the fuckin' luck that the Dippers have had over the last week or so!

He’s lacked confidence in front of goal, I agree but he should have played Jesus from the start and that side was nowhere near our strongest. Mahrez having an ok game (definitely not man of the match) against Watford counts for fuck all in the big games. His strength is putting balls into the box against the weaker sides but if you’re playing Sterling up top, who’s he gonna cross too? The ball just never stuck up front and by moving Sterling about we nullified our best player this season.

FWIW I don’t think Mahrez had a bad game today but he upset the side.

If our manager, coaching staff, players and owners had the same attitude as some of the posters on the matchday thread after one loss and only a point behind a team that has won no league titles since the 90’s - then we would be in a right fucking mess

Very bad day at the office that i didn't expect.Pep got the initial line up wrong,it happens.....no one is perfect(even if he's close!)

We are also picking up too many injuries to vital players that we can ill afford, which is a concern!

However.....we are one point behind the media darlings,we will regroup,we'll probably sign a couple in Jan,and we will fight for that title.

Chelsea played well, they deserved the points, fair play.

MOTM - Dinho - phenomenal man and player.

Did they fuck deserved the points they were there for the taking and we fucked up0
