Chelsea (A) Post Match Thread

Yes, that hurt and it’s a feeling that we rarely experience these days. Very disappointing. A self-indicted defeat but fair play to Sarri and Chelsea. Need to pick ourselves up for Hoffenheim and Everton - which will be a hard game. Returns of KDB and Kun can’t come quick enough.

i don't feel bad about this result, I always felt the first team to lose a game between us and the dippers, would go on to win the league, and I stand by this, look we had a bad day at the office, let's regroup for Everton and that dick Pickford.

I’m firmly in the Jesus should have started camp and hate Sterling in the false position mainly because it removes currently probably the best player in the world in that position from doing his job in that position. I also like a focal point and believe that Jesus although clearly out of goal scoring form offers a problem to defences and opens up space for Sterling and Sane.

Anyway shouldnt grumble about tactics as we were by far the better side until the 43rd minute and completely in the driving seat. Then the goal threw us. The timing of the goal threw us. The crowd pushed Chelsea on and they responded well to their good fortune, played to the crowd and defended exelently and second half and we didn’t have an answer

I know we don’t lose much any more but that one hurt. Really hurt...

It’s the hate for the dippers knowing they now have a duel incentive... only team unbeaten and top of the league... need to nip it in the bud quickly by 3rd of Jan as they are not dippers of last few years.. not the one we did in 2014.. they are more measured than previous pool sides.

Need to stop them soon before the media love in gathers momentum and translates into referring decions for them and us.

Awful day of footie that for us that. Awful.

You could visibly see the heads drop when Kante scored. I don’t think our players genuinely thought we could score 2 goals today. We were hoping for something similar to last years result.

Still a long way to go though.

Not sure about that, we kept going as we always do. The quality was lacking, we looked clueless for long periods of the 2nd half.

Gundogan again does nowt.
Time to bring on Foden before him.
Jesus another worry.Hard to believe his form from a year ago to this.
Mahrez hiding again. He must be humping someone high up Sane to get taken off before him.
Anyway regroup and hope Sergio and Kev can get back to fitness sooner rather than later.
Might even take a risk in buying another striker next month.

These things happen in football. You dominate a game for 45 mins, playing very well, and then the opponent breaks on you in the final minute of the 1st half and a player who rarely scores strikes it into the roof of the net. CFC needed everything to go their way to win, and it did.

I'd be gutted with the result if I was Pep but really these things happen in football to the best sides.

Reminded me in a way of the CL Q/F last season when crucial moments turned a game.
