Chelsea (A) Post Match Thread

Yes the usual suspects will be blamed but The two Silvas were poor and you sensed after our two complimentary sitters. and the there goal They woukd come out stronger which they did . however to not have a shot of note in 2nd half was unforgiveable Please get Kevin sorted ASAP

I’m firmly in the Jesus should have started camp and hate Sterling in the false position mainly because it removes currently probably the best player in the world in that position from doing his job in that position. I also like a focal point and believe that Jesus although clearly out of goal scoring form offers a problem to defences and opens up space for Sterling and Sane.

Anyway shouldnt grumble about tactics as we were by far the better side until the 43rd minute and completely in the driving seat. Then the goal threw us. The timing of the goal threw us. The crowd pushed Chelsea on and they responded well to their good fortune, played to the crowd and defended exelently and second half and we didn’t have an answer

I know we don’t lose much any more but that one hurt. Really hurt...

It’s the hate for the dippers knowing they now have a duel incentive... only team unbeaten and top of the league... need to nip it in the bud quickly by 3rd of Jan as they are not dippers of last few years.. not the one we did in 2014.. they are more measured than previous pool sides.

Need to stop them soon before the media love in gathers momentum and translates into referring decions for them and us.

Awful day of footie that for us that. Awful.
Totally agree with you, good post in amongst a load of bollocks

Pep Guardiola: "They made a movement down our left side and we could not control it. We played better than other days when we have won. The way we played in the first half was incredible. They had minimum chances and scored and in the second half we were there until the end."

Pep Guardiola: "It is emotional for me to see these players do what they do every three days. It is the level that it is. We were outstanding except for 5-8 minutes. We try to be champions. Everyone wants to beat us. Now it is recovery for the Champions League."

Ok, first things first. When KDB got injured (1st time) I said we need to still be in the mix when he returns. We’ve achieved that and more.

Today however, was very disappointing as we played well in the first half, but our 2 very good chances were squandered. Then we conceded against the run of play.
The second half was awful. Chelsea bossed us and normally reliable players didn’t perform. Too many loose passes (Mahrez, Bernardo and Delph).
Delph had a torrid time in that 2nd half and seemed to be repeatedly caught out of position. Why as left back was he not on the post for the 2nd goal? He’s there, he clears it; he wasn’t doing anything. I didn’t think it was a corner neither. Mahrez, contributed nothing really and surprisingly wasn’t subbed. For me he is never a better option than Sterling or Sané and it unbalanced the team. Why move Sterling to accommodate him, play him on the left, he’s left footed.

Both David and Bernardo Silva were well below par today and Jesus looks forlorn, he desperately needs a goal. It’s very rare that the majority of the team have an off day, this is what happened today and we paid the price. A big week ahead of us and it’s all about how we react. I predict we’ll be back on top after next weekends games. We need our top players back and performing quickly. Hope Dave isn’t serious?

The season isn`t half gone and we`ve already played Spuds, Dippers, Arse, and the Chavs all away. I said if we were in touch at this point I`d be happy. So after a bad day at the office all is not lost.
