Chelsea (A) Post Match Thread

Like most on here I was absolutely thrilled with what I saw today. We had that real incision back in the final third, the pace and intent in our passing and also off the ball was back and virtually every player looked in really promising form.

Other than that really eye catching first half, we showed some real defensive grit and organisation throughout that had Steffen a virtual spectator for the entire game. Dias and Stones as a partnership looks really hopeful, the former having the real look of a leader (with or without the armband). That late goal will have hurt but that shouldn’t take anything away from how well the team defended, controlled the game and attacked today.

All we’ve heard lately is Liverpool are in pole position again, Solskjaer making Utd a team to challenge for the title, Mourinho’s Tottenham having the hallmarks of a title winning side, even Everton have been getting more airtime about their title credentials than we have. All the while we’ve just been going about our business efficiently and in pragmatic fashion. This performance will give Klopp more sleepless nights than any other performance from any pretender to the throne. City showed tonight we’re no pretenders, we want our title back!!
That’s OK.

We’ll go under the radar, as usual.

I'm happy with that.

Let’s win the league for the next 3 years, might make Pep want to say, and fuck knows when it was last won 3 times running, presumably the swamp dwelling cunts?

Rodri had a much better 2nd half. He gave the ball away too much first half in bad positions but I think he's playing there and receiving the ball because when he gets it right we tend to do well. High risk position.

Loving the Dias and Stones partnership. Without cursing it I want to see how they respond to a clanger or a 10 minute spell where they are under a lot of pressure. We've sometimes lacked composure there when the pressure is on but so far they look the real deal.

Cancelo is looking superb recently. Really turning things around after looking a bit disinterested

Carney was excellent. Forget the gaffe with Leeds ....she picked out Bernardo when I was all over Ilkay. She was right.

Carney was very insightful and just like Chapman was professional and impartial.
As ex Chelsea it must have killed her seeing City tear her club a new one so kudos to her for that too.
Hopefully she's learned from the Leeds gaffe.
Put the likes of Ratboy and Spit to shame.
