That’s OK.Like most on here I was absolutely thrilled with what I saw today. We had that real incision back in the final third, the pace and intent in our passing and also off the ball was back and virtually every player looked in really promising form.
Other than that really eye catching first half, we showed some real defensive grit and organisation throughout that had Steffen a virtual spectator for the entire game. Dias and Stones as a partnership looks really hopeful, the former having the real look of a leader (with or without the armband). That late goal will have hurt but that shouldn’t take anything away from how well the team defended, controlled the game and attacked today.
All we’ve heard lately is Liverpool are in pole position again, Solskjaer making Utd a team to challenge for the title, Mourinho’s Tottenham having the hallmarks of a title winning side, even Everton have been getting more airtime about their title credentials than we have. All the while we’ve just been going about our business efficiently and in pragmatic fashion. This performance will give Klopp more sleepless nights than any other performance from any pretender to the throne. City showed tonight we’re no pretenders, we want our title back!!
We’ll go under the radar, as usual.
I'm happy with that.
