Chelsea (A) Post Match Thread

Yet Chelsea have just spent a quarter of a billion last summer and they were all outclassed today - why did he miss an opportunity to mention that...?
Yes, them spending more in a week than we did in a calendar year is a fact they can broadcast to the world if they want to.

No way was that so-called back pass intended for Steffen, a very strange decision which could have been very costly at such an early point in the game. Also, strange that the MOTD2 pundits barely mentioned Gundog despite being arguably the MOTM. Finally, to the poster saying pick the same XI for Weds, sadly Bernardo is suspended so I guess Jesus/Mahrez may start instead.

Rodri played the ball deliberately backwards, there was no deflection so Steffen shouldn't have picked it up. Who Rodri thought he was passing to is irrelevant.

I rate Rodri, but he was terrible in the first half, gave the ball away 7 or 8 times, nearly costing a couple of goals.
Rodri wasn’t the only one. De Bruyne was even worse.
Then after 15 mins we pinged the passes about with absolute precision.

I don’t worry too much when we play teams that try to go toe to toe with us.
It’s the bus parking teams that have a bit more on the counter and a slight edge with VAR and the referees that are frustrating us.

We have a run of bus parking teams. Keep the tempo high and the passing crisp City.

From the latest Laws of the Game :

All free kicks are taken from the place where the offence occurred, except:
• indirect free kicks to the attacking team for an offence inside the opponents’ goal area are taken from the nearest point on the goal area line which runs parallel to the goal line
You learn something every day.
Was it really a back pass?
