I am talk about that natural instinct to run or jump towards the low and high passes. At the moment only Ferran is doing it.

the false 9 is only a issue if we don't keep the full on press and keep them pegged back deep so they can not hit the out ball.. there is plenty of goals in this squad and maybe not a 20 plus striker but 10 to 15 by 4 or 5 is enough to win us everything we want

yesterday was more about them having a good goalkeeper stopping us scoring more
the 2 from grealish and the first save him made was outstand and it had goal all over it but just got a finger tip to it the second one he was quick of his line and did not give grealish time to pick his shot

Bernardo put in an unbelievable 10/10 performance. Would love to know how many miles he covered yesterday. What a player and so glad we kept him. And lots of other great performances too but I thought that was Rodri’s best performance in a city shirt. Won everything in midfield.

I agree Foden will eventually play in the midfield and turn into one of the top 5 players in the world and im not saying this with my bias City head on. But playing against a Jose style negative set up he still had some major moments in the game As the false 9.
But against the top teams Foden, KDB, Jack have to be starting and and then 1 from the 3 other attacking boys.
 
Watched the game again this afternoon and we were just as good!
I thought Phil had a relatively quiet game but watching it again you see just how far he ran. The press from the front five was something to behold. If Gabby loses the ball to you, you better get rid quickly as he will rob it back in seconds. He must have done that at least half a dozen times yesterday. Without Mendy, we would have won that 3 or 4 nil.

In a tight game when the opposition are so defensive any one of our false 9’s will be relatively quiet and starved of the ball, that said I thought our number 47 did very well.
 
I’ve always been one of those who have questioned how many really good seasons Bernardo has had in his time here. He was magnificent today as all season. Best signing this season. Kyle was superb. Gabby was superb. Ruben is the conductor. Cancelo was excellent! Eddie brave. Pep superb tactics. Fans were excellent. I never felt more…
