Chelsea fans throwing missiles from South Stand 3rd tier

Yeah that’s what I meant really I was thinking Stretford End/Kop/Gladys Street. The away end always used to be at the opposite side of the ground mostly. I always look at the lower tier away bit from where I sit in SS3 and it looks like hardly any segregation. I’m not sure what the answer is to this really as the club probably don’t want away fans walking past the main entrance or anywhere close to the Family Stand. I know they want coaches close to turnstiles too. I was really surprised at the lack of policing outside the ground at the end of the game and on the walk back to town yesterday.

Yes i was surprised at first about the policing outside as i walked back to town too, but really we shouldnt be , Chelsea fans are no where near as bad as they used to be for actual fighting , in the 80,s and 90,s they would have been trouble all the way back to tòwn.
They even let Liverpool fans out at the same time and i saw no fighting. The main problem was both teams fans throwing stuff.
One day they could be tho if City fans get pissed off, 2 teams i think they would be trouble if they let them out at the same time are prob utd and millwall.

City have to give up the top tier for cup game allocation. A double header in a league cup semi we could agree to league allocation mutually with the opposition. However, unless the police object we have to give a larger allocation. The only long term solution would be a whole new segregated arrangement. Not easy but if the ground is expanded this may be a consideration. We have had over 20 clubs up there with no real problems that I know. I think the short term answer is not selling the first 2 rows and netting over them with security looking up

Correct me if I’ve got your post wrong. So we would have to give up thousands of away tickets because of opposition fans throwing things at us. That would be pretty unfair

I’m not part of an official supporters club. I just thought it would be a good idea if a organisation representing thousands of fans said something about an issue effecting lots of city fans. It could make a huge difference if a group like that did.

On issues like this, increased match day prices or thousands being forced out for advertising boards we don’t seemingly have any group speaking up for city fans. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I haven’t heard or seen anything

Did you not see the email sent out before the Liverpool game. The club are taking the action they want to be seen taking

NB However if the club are willing to front it out and take any rap that is different.

I agree and I wouldn’t be surprised if the OSC have already spoken to the “the Club’s leadership” about security failures at recent games.

I’ve been at the OSC Exec meetings and ticket pricing was raised several times. We then saw cheaper junior tickets for lower profile home games, however, prices seem to have been hiked for recent higher profile games.

When Kevin Parker spoke out in support of the fans when Pep criticised the atmosphere the “back up” from fans was invisible. The OSC also made it clear it was disgusted at the slashing of our allocation for the Cup game at the swamp.

If you want the OSC to be more effective why don’t you get involved. It’s easy just to criticise.

Anyway, the peole who’ve committed these offences are Liverpool and Chelsea fans and the City employees who could do something to make fans safer just seem to have issued joint statements.

I went to the game as a neutral and what a team you are. The football was outstanding and a joy to watch.

On this though, and I don't mean to take the ****, but I was surprised with how many below the Chelsea fans were creating an atmosphere. It wasn't great overall, which is to be expected when you are winning so easily, but there was a group behind the goal and to the side on the bend that really seemed to try and keep it going throughout.

I know throwing things isn't right but all below were taking the **** non-stop to the Chelsea fans (the Madness song was very funny) and it kind of felt inevitable that things would be thrown down, was it not?

Maybe it's just me as an old school fan but I always thought if you took the **** you were open to a clump. Again, I don't want to excuse the Chelsea fans but I'm sure we've all been there when your team get outclassed (you not so much recently :D) and it hurts.

I sit above away fans at Wolves and I know if fans below turned round and spent a significant time mocking us above that things would be thrown down, not from me as I'm too far back but you get the point.

Apologies if answered but why can't the three tiers that happens in a league game just get moved across for a cup game?
