Chelsea fans throwing missiles from South Stand 3rd tier

The club won’t do anything in public.
City have to give up the top tier for cup game allocation. A double header in a league cup semi we could agree to league allocation mutually with the opposition. However, unless the police object we have to give a larger allocation. The only long term solution would be a whole new segregated arrangement. Not easy but if the ground is expanded this may be a consideration. We have had over 20 clubs up there with no real problems that I know. I think the short term answer is not selling the first 2 rows and netting over them with security looking up

That’s the current set up which isn’t working. I took some pictures yesterday from the bottom of SSL1 looking up. I’ll post them tomorrow.

I went to the game as a neutral and what a team you are. The football was outstanding and a joy to watch.

On this though, and I don't mean to take the ****, but I was surprised with how many below the Chelsea fans were creating an atmosphere. It wasn't great overall, which is to be expected when you are winning so easily, but there was a group behind the goal and to the side on the bend that really seemed to try and keep it going throughout.

I know throwing things isn't right but all below were taking the **** non-stop to the Chelsea fans (the Madness song was very funny) and it kind of felt inevitable that things would be thrown down, was it not?

Maybe it's just me as an old school fan but I always thought if you took the **** you were open to a clump. Again, I don't want to excuse the Chelsea fans but I'm sure we've all been there when your team get outclassed (you not so much recently :D) and it hurts.

I sit above away fans at Wolves and I know if fans below turned round and spent a significant time mocking us above that things would be thrown down, not from me as I'm too far back but you get the point.

Apologies if answered but why can't the three tiers that happens in a league game just get moved across for a cup game?
"Apologies if answered but why can't the three tiers that happens in a league game just get moved across for a cup game?"

The configuration of the ground does not support this option, access/egress and crowd segregation issues would mean away ticket allocation would be limited to the lower numbers allowed for PL games.

Not a bad video to watch from chelsea's perspective, we sound very loud at times particular when
taking the piss with " tearing apart and why the fk are you still here ".

and straight to 9 mins 50 sec for the hard boys on level 2 chucking and spitting .

Good of him to post video of Chelsea fans throwing things. We just need the scouse to follow suit.

thats why i posted that video, cos i knew someone would capture photos of the scroats.
Interesting about us being investigated for the homophobic chanting, that video before the game on the 218 concourse involves a nice chelsea ditty with one line about " digging a dead body up and shagging it ",they're charming those cockneys aint they.

I take your point but this isn't about the "matchday experience" in any way, shape or form.

It's about the HEALTH & SAFETY of everyone that goes through the turnstiles at our club.

I mentioned the numbers in a previous post. Circa 1.25 million people will visit The Etihad this season, probably more. There are not many places on earth that have that footfall in only 9 months. The numbers are staggering.

The fact is that people are getting injured, spat upon, kids being frightened to death, but NOTHING is being done to stop it, as is proved because its happened twice in a few weeks.

Not a great business plan that.
Agreed. The obvious caveat being that football fans are a captive audience who will endure all manner of unpleasant experiences and still be prepared to give City their custom. City of course know this but couldn’t care less,
