Chelsea (H) | Post-Match Thread

Pathetic by Rodri for the Chelsea equaliser. Caught in possession like that. Treating a penalty like that from Aguero. That performance was as unprofessional as it gets from all at City, team and backroom. Considering it would of ceiled the league. Probably get the league by default now when United fuck up. You play your best football when you have to win and you get in the groove like we did chasing down Liverpool game after game, no time for rest. All this resting just ends up with rustiness and a sense of who is first class and who is second class.
Rodri was fouled in that incident.

Think plenty need to take a breath.
It was frustrating.
It was the second time in a few weeks losing in the last minute.
But we will still win the league. We still won the league cup. We’re still in CL final.

Can we all think of the bigger picture

Look at the end of the day the guy has done enough over the years to be a legend and greatest ever striker but I’d love to know what he was thinking with that penalty .
Doesn't excuse what he did today, not just the penalty the attitude to raheem when he got sergio off the hook, he looked like he wanted it to be all about him and that's one of the reasons I fucking hate Ronaldo, if that is his attitude to finish his career then I fear he will do it again when someone else is in a better position, it's not like him and now I'm calming down I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt, but I'm not sure pep will be so forgiving

Number one fanboy here. I absolutely love the guy, but he tried to make it all about himself, today. Especially when he had a whinge at Raz for notching off his miss control.
I really hope there's no inner Yaya stirring, within him.
After 10 great years I think he's entitled to the odd fuck up. If the keeper had dived and that had gone in we'd have been lauding it as the best penalty ever. It didn't; shit happens. Get over it.

We should have had a pen and their winning goal was a fluke though.
I don't like them kind of pens when a player falls over just because he's being hustled not fouled. The sooner refs stop giving them the sooner the forwards will stay on there feet and do something creative while under pressure from a defender.

You know why I’m fuming pal because it only takes a couple of mistakes, shit decision or an inspired performance by the opposition and you can lose 3 games. Arrogant to assume otherwise. Pick your best team til it’s won. Win today could’ve rested who he wanted.
What if mahrez kdb and foden got injured today?

Aston Villa (A)- decent team and hopefully they will get something
Leicester (H). - normally id say a Leicester win but they have been awful recently....
Liverpool (H)- - who knows,......Id say Utd win

IF they were to win all 3 they would be 4 pts behind us before we play Newcastle - that would add a bit of pressure indeed
I’ve stuck a tenner on them to win all three, the £130 return will go a little way to calm my temper.

You may be right , we win at Newcastle great but I see scum dropping points so we may only need a draw which will mean Mendy a fucking gain. That's enough for me.
A full team today , a win , then it's 3 weeks on the beach or at the most the final game to keep them sharp.
If the rags drop points it will be a crap way to win it, a total anti- climax. Hey ho whatever....
Nobody remembers how you won it - 2012 probably being one of the few exceptions.

I've seen two penalties recently taken in big games for their clubs ( Peterborough to gain promotion the other week and Derby to stay up today) both at late stages of the game. The penalty takers were clinical under extreme pressure and that's championship and league 1 strikers.
What is the matter with us??
mental block

Any professional should able to put a penalty away 9 times out of 10

God help us if the final goes to penalties

Saving graces:
He doesn’t have to play people to keep them happy now, evidence is clear that some aren’t up to scratch

Fernandinho starts the final

Cancelo is benched for the final with the better full backs picked

Chelsea out ball to Werner on the left is negated by walker

The team for the final plays every game now if they’re fit. Rhythm

Where's the big psychological boost? They played a side with 9 changes from our best team and put together in a completely untried formation just to fit them in and only managed to beat us with the last kick thanks to some poor decisions, there's really not much of a boost they can take from that
Two victories over us in the last few weeks will mean they will have a psychological edge however you want to dress it up.
