EPL fixtures are canceled because the FA are shit scared a certain group of fans may boo the minutes silence and then they would have to do something about these w4nkers
I agree with this....
A lot more notice was given for those events. Was there this level of hysteria when the Premier League has an international break?
I don’t recall this level of whining when the Premier League is put on hold for the international breaks. What about when the Premier League announced a break for the World Cup? I would be grateful if you would post a link for these threads
I don’t agree with the cancellation of games but let’s not get all hyperbolic.A day of no football does cost something though. It costs millions of people the opportunity to spend some time enjoying themselves with friends and family.
It costs millions of kids - who have already lost two years of their lives during covid - the opportunity to play football with their mates.
People are talking about respect, when in actual fact depriving people of the opportunity to do something they enjoy and is extremely important in their lives, is one of the most selfish and inconsiderate acts possible.
There is no reason why the nation can’t mourn and millions of people can still enjoy their free time. These two things are not mutually exclusive.
This is an absolute joke of a decision.
It’ll be forgotten about right up until we have to play 4 games in a week in April/May.I do agree that that the games should be going ahead and it would be good for the country for it to do so, but this time next month nobody is going to be arsed that games were called off in the sport across the country this weekend.
With all due respect, this is our greatest monarch. Elizabeth the Great. Not some tinpot Monarch from the past. The history books noted that football wasn’t stopped for King George VI or V, or Queen Victoria. Edward VII died after the season finished.
The precedent was set then. This is nonsense.
