Chelsea-Liverpool, United-Leeds, Brighton-Palace all off, rest of the games on (pg 128)

A day of no football does cost something though. It costs millions of people the opportunity to spend some time enjoying themselves with friends and family.

It costs millions of kids - who have already lost two years of their lives during covid - the opportunity to play football with their mates.

People are talking about respect, when in actual fact depriving people of the opportunity to do something they enjoy and is extremely important in their lives, is one of the most selfish and inconsiderate acts possible.

There is no reason why the nation can’t mourn and millions of people can still enjoy their free time. These two things are not mutually exclusive.

This is an absolute joke of a decision.
They're never going to get it.

I am thinking that football being the national game is why they have called it off , i also think large amounts of dippers booing and not respecting a silence is on their mind

Avanti are right twats, even though the travel firms must reimburse people who are needing to cancel because of this, these chancers are charging £10 admin fee per ticket for anyone who does

A fucked clock is right twice a day - the hardening Tory stance on non-interference has actually worked in their favour this time; they left this sort of stuff up to governing bodies and the FA have called it badly wrong. In this case, i think the gov might be ok? as in, by turning a blind eye and washing their hands of responsibility (yet again), they may have got away with one.
You can be sure the Government put pressure on the PL in private.
