It isn't. Just a stupid country being stupid as per usual as to not upset large parts of the right wing media. I can't think of anything more respectful than millions of sports fans singing the national anthem this weekend.

It sounds like you already have your plan in place for weekend :)It’s the selective cancellations I don’t understand. I can go pub / club get smashed, go comedy club for a laugh go strip club but I can’t watch football!
Anybody explain this ?

The thread title now needs amending as its the various governing sporting bodies who have made this choice and no pressure appears to have been put on them by either the Government nor Royalty.

I don’t support the cancelling of the games, nor am I a royalist, but I think cancelling the games is supposed to remove a distraction allowing people to focus on ‘paying respect’.
