They haven’t been postponed because of protocol, they‘ve been postponed by the PL committee, fearful of criticism received if they’d said carry on.

Disappointed to see the game cancelled but can see why the PL did it. Most other sporting events have been cancelled on Saturday and the PL image may have been tarnished if they played the games and others didn’t.

A lot of sport is resuming Sunday but I can see why the PL went against this, difficulty of catching up later and fixture clashes etc.

Times like these inevitably split opinion but I think it’s a case of damned if you do damned if you don’t.

Personally I think it's mad. There could have been a minutes silence/applause at all games this weekend. I presume the actual funeral will be next week sometime when everything could come to a grinding halt on the day. What will happen to the European games, are they next week? Also in a already crowded schedule when are these games going to be fitted in?

Having said that rest in peace Queen Elizabeth, the last of a great monarchy. She came across as a genuinely nice woman, shame on Harry and Andrew causing her so much angst in her final years.
