Chelsea Post Match

Our corners were terrible as they were against Stoke.
Only Jovetic and Lampard will shoot from outside the box
Nobody will put pressure on defenders the way Robben does, dribbling the ball directly into the area yet
Navas ,Silva and Milner are pretty good at dribbling.
Just feel we should mix it up a bit.

Two crosses from the byline today one went along the goal line when the attack was hanging back, the next pulled back when the attack was along the goal line. Both would have been excellent chances with a look up.

Why bring dzeko off when we had a corner and not after ?Two minutes later back of our net when it could have been in theirs.

We bossed it today and made a lot of their players look ordinary. Moureen has always been a jammy bastard, and i'm sick to the teethe of referees wanting to be star attraction. Tw.ts.
All our players 10 for effort and you can't really ask for more.

Shh! We spent so long getting Dzeko to stop!

Lets have it right.

This season was always going to start slow with most of our squad not having a proper pre season.

And the fixture list was far from kind.

But, today we were monsters and showed why we are the champions.
Dean lost the plot which eventually cost us but make no mistake, anyone who saw that knows who the best team in the league are.

and finally. Mario. brilliant. lol.

Chelsea played Mike Dean brilliantly. Dean is usually good, one of the better refs but he got played today by a team that went down at every turn - and exaggerated any contact to draw a card. They clearly hoped a red would come and seized their chance when it did. For all the media hype it was the same old Chelsea very solid and very defensive. Not sure they have enough to win the league.

I can't see many teams beating them though

We have played three home games and now need to win 16/16 to have the same record as last year. We can't afford anymore Stoke games, yet I have a feeling we are going to be facing that every week.

I think our away record could end up better than ever this season though as teams at home really can't play like that.

We need a run of wins now. The next two games are tricky but we must win them.

There is a catch. You can't park the bus and put away lower teams. When they have gone forward against lesser teams, they have looked vulnerable at the back. I can see a few defeats away from home like Stoke, Villa and Palace last year. Where they struggle to break down the opposition and themselves get caught by a sucker punch.

I don't think they are that much better than last year. Personally, I think the jury is still out on Costa. All we've really seen so far is close range goals against mostly lesser teams. And yes they won at Goodison but so too did Palace today. And Chelsea were gifted 2 offside goals in the first 5 mins in that game.

I thought you were excellent, totally bossed the game (until Mike Reid sent Zab off).
Controlled the first half, but no clear chances, as Chelsea parked the bus. I thought you could have had 1 or 2 pens, but....I have to say that is one of the worst/inconsistent/biased refereeing displays I have seen.
You deserved to win it

Read the last 3 or 4 pages, so not going to repeat all the points made. Descent performance, good result.

Thought we didn't look quite up for it enough until their goal. We played nice stuff but no urgency, no real passion. Almost like we were happy to take the draw as long as we looked like we were trying. Fast tempo/quick breaks still doesn't seem to be our thing and we are poorer for it.

After their goal though we looked up for it. When Zab went off they were definately on top, but once they scored it was back to how it had been, with us dominating. We didn't look a man down.

All in all, if we're going to draw then that's the way to do it.
No urgency or passion until they scored?
Don't be ridiculous we were well up for it from the start.
Lack of a cutting edge, poor corners and crossing maybe but lack of urgency never.
What game were you watching? Absolutely ridiculous comments.
By the way, how brilliant were Chavs, no shots on goal until we went down to ten, and then scored from the position Zab would have occupied.
Care to be critical of them?

Thought it was a brilliant performance today. The scoreline does not reflect the way we played. This week has been, to use a Mancini phrase, a bit strange. Thought we were great against Arsenal, Bayern and Chelsea without getting any breaks. The two penalties we didn't get were appalling decisions. If we match these levels for the rest of this season we will win the title again and do well in Europe. (quarters at least)

our corners, as usual shocking............too long in the air with no pace on them, its too easy to defend.................we also dont have the direct, fast paced dribbler that frightens the hell out of defenders (di maria, hazard, robben, ribery) also was a bit annoyed with zabba, love him to bits but you could see Dean was looking to send one of us today, stop giving him the excuse, you gotta be cuter when on a yellow zabb..........for all our possession did we really look like scoring???

Kompany and Mangala looked a World Class Centre back pairing today had Costa in their pocket.

The most important thing when you play your closest rivals this early in the season is just not to lose so I would have taken a point before the game.

But to take a point after being stitched up by the ref (again) almost feels like a win. And to play with such dominance and tempo makes me think we can go on and win this league comfortably
