So... is Rafa still the manager?
Somehow. He's officially the worst manager under the Abramovich era and his win percentage just went below 50%.

Mata excellent again, but even he couldn't save us this time. It isn't surprising, it's just depressing. At least those idiots in charge are being punished for what they did to RDM and I hope that between this and what he did at Inter, people (scousers) will stop claiming Benitez is anything more than a pretender.

As a side note which will be overshadowed by the circus surrounding Benitez, Webb was dire today. Cisse grabbed Cole around the throat, and Cole was booked for it. Ramires made a 2 footed challenge and escaped a red. And Ba was kicked in the face (which broke his nose) in the box with the ball clear of both of them, which constitutes a high and dangerous tackle (penalty/red card) which escaped any punishment at all.

Again the once bitten twice shy syndrome.

I bet Webb couldn't help but think of VK's tackle when it occurred.

I thought it was line ball myself having seen it a few times.

How the game has changed as it wouldn't have got a mention a few years ago.

Webb did have another shocker and being one of the most senior it doesn't go well for the ref ranks in the premiership.

Every week a number of contentious issues that the refs get wrong become the talking point of most games.

The sooner that VR comes into being the better but I doubt that will happen until the current crop of oldies at UEFA , and the FA are given the kaiser or retire.

He was kept out of the big games for a while, this is probably why.

Chelsea have blown themselves out. They are a spent force. The future is between us and the scum.
No it isn't and your deluded if you think it is, there a top striker away from a title winning team. They also have a very young and talented squad, Oscar, Hazard, Courtois and Mata all in there early 20s. If they bring in Mourinho next season I would make them favourites for the title.

I think you acted too soon by sacking AVB to be honest, never give him a chance to impose himself and his ideas on the squad , RA listened to the old guard too much and let them down tools to drive him out, he could be a top manager given time and money.

As for Benitez there's a good chance he could end up at Madrid in the summer with the departure of Mourinho and leave you managerless once again, what next i hear you say?

I think your running out of options when it comes to high profile managers so i think the next move will be one that'll bring the fans and chairman together, so you can both move forward as one.

In my opinion your next appointment will be Gianfranco Zola, he's got Watford playing some great football and it'll be a cute and acceptable appointment by the fans.

After his smart arse comments to City players about ''enjoy your thursday nights on Channel 5'', Cole can go and fuck himself. An odious individual by all accounts.

I thought you more measured than that. Banter between players grates you that badly?

How you didn't get a penalty for that challenge on BA I don't know.. Think it stout defence that's the problem Terry has gone for me and I can't see a top defender in your side

I agree. Terry has made 4 significant mistakes in his last 4 matches and is clearly a shadow of his former self. I do believe Ivanovic is a top defender, because he has been consistently solid at both CB and RB for years now, but this season he has been average. Cahill had a great season with us last year, but has also been average this season.

These issues were present under RDM as well, so I'm reluctant to blame Rafa for it. Azpilicueta has been our only consistent defender so far and we could certainly do with some reinforcements there.
Too much chopping and changing for me, especially at the back. No team can prove themselves with an inconsistent back line.
